LYRICS:
LAMENT
Words & Music by: Christene Jackman ©&(p) 2.14.2022. BMI #: 056663772
THE BEGINNING:
בְּרֵאשִׁית בָּרָא אֱלֹהִים אֵת הַשָּׁמַיִם וְאֵת הָאָֽרֶץ
Beresheet bara Elohim et haShamayim ve'et Ha Aretz
In the Beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth
THE FALL: musical interlude
Feel the Depths We've Fallen / See His Hidden Face
Touch the Stones of Sodom / Remember they too could have had grace
OOoooo! All creation groans! / OOoooo! All creation groans!
Do you have ears to hear? (Past is Prologue) Do you have ears to hear? (Past is Prologue)
Peti People worship at altars of dressed stone
A mingled cup received / Drink it up and be deceived
OOoooo! All creation groans! OOoooo! All creation groans!
Pray for eyes to see (stone heart) / Pray for eyes to see (stone mind)
They should have known better / He's always made it plain
As in days of old, they were clueless / until it began to rain
OOoooo! Te-shuv- ah (Repent, Return)! / OOoooo! Fall down on your face!
While it is still Today / Before it's too late
Why do you call Him, "Lord, Lord" / Then ignore what He's said?
For the Word of God makes wise the Simple / Yet The Book is barely read
He's told us the End from the Beginning!
Though long silent / Hear Him stirring
Creatures of Dust Shake tiny fists / Preachers of Lust Push useless grist
He is com - ing
Lovers of Self Bow to their god / Oblivious to the Makers' upturned Rod!
All will hear His Roar!
The Lion of Judah's coming!!
OOoooo! Mes-siah Ye-shua! / OOoooo! Soon "Salvation" comes!
Will you be ready?
THE TRIBULATION: Musical Interlude
THE END: The Return to The Garden
In the End again / The LORD creates / A New Heaven and Earth
Wars will cease / there will be Peace / No more Tears / and no more Curse.

CHONENI ELOHIM (Be Gracious to me, O God), Christene Jackman, Messianic Music
CHONENI ELOHIM (Be Gracious to me, O God)
A Cry of Repentance, Based on Psalm 51:3-4, 11-12, 14, 17
Christene Jackman, (c) Elul 5771, September 2011
Are you struggling with sin and ready to shuv--return to God and repent (stop sinning)? This song is for you.
The lyrics of Choneni Elohim are taken directly from Psalm 51 and sung in Biblical Hebrew. Psalm 51 contains the words of King David that he wrote after his sins of adultery with Bathsheba and complicity in the murder of her husband.
As I was trying to find the melody and chords that would reflect his state of mind so many centuries ago, I thought of how David had a such a tender heart towards God. When he came to himself through the mirror of Nathan the prophet, he would have been devastated. He had betrayed his King, his Elohim, his Faithful One, the Holy One of Israel. In my mind's eye, I can see him weeping, heart-broken on the cold stone floor.
Then I thought of my own horrible sins. And the melody came.
---
"Choneni Elohim, choneni!"
A broken and contrite heart You will not despise.
Todah rabbah, Abba. Todah rabbah, Yeshua, my Tzaddik, Who took my avonot (consequences for iniquities)--the curses of the Torah I deserved--upon Himself.
"Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." +Yeshua
Yochannen/John 15:13
Shuv.
Dust off The Book. Read it. Do it.
Walk in His Ways out of love and gratitude.
* Interesting note: I started writing this around the time of the Shoftim and Ki Teitzei Parshah Readings. The traditional haftarah readings (Prophets) for these two weeks are:
Shoftim: Isaiah 51:12-52:12
Ki Teitzei: Isaiah 54:1-54:10
Where's Isaiah 53?
Why is it excluded?
Read it and you'll see.

"How Lovely It Is" (Evening Sacrifice Song), Christene Jackman, Messianic Music
Lyric Video of the song, "How Lovely It Is" (Evening Sacrifice Song) by Christene Jackman © & (p) 2012. BMI# 14285021. Written while in Israel, "How Lovely It Is" draws your heart heavenward with lush melodies and soaring violin. A beautiful love song, "How Lovely It Is" celebrates "walking in The Garden" intimacy with our Beloved Goel/Redeemer, Yeshua (Jesus).
The song bookends with theatre of the mind images of David raising his hands in prayer at the time of the evening sacrifice. He longs to be in intimacy with his Creator at the Tabernacle, but King Saul's persecution has him in hiding in the wilderness of places like Ein Gedi. David knows that no matter where he goes, he is never out of His sight or care. The same is true for us today.

"Avinu (Our Father)", The Lord's Prayer in Hebrew, Christene Jackman
A Messianic praise and worship lyric video of the song, "Avinu (Our Father)", The Lord's Prayer or better yet: "The Disciples Prayer" sung in Hebrew.
Song by Christene Jackman (c)&(p)2008, BMI# 14284996.
NOTES:
Note that " l'dai Masah" means lead us not into the "hands of Masah", referring to the Israelites grumbling at Masah in the desert."
Although Yeshua (Jesus) probably spoke Hebrew, as well as, Aramaic and Koine Greek in everyday life, according to Jewish tradition the Torah, the Prophets, and Prayers were recited or chanted in Biblical Hebrew, as they are today. That's the reason behind my deciding to sing this song in Hebrew rather than Aramaic. The vast bulk of the Tanakh (Gen-Mal.) was written originally in Biblical Hebrew.
BACKSTORY:
I asked my ten year old granddaughter if she would listen to this new song I had written called, "Avinu" or "Our Father", which was the Lord's Prayer in Hebrew. I first spoke the words in Hebrew and then told her what they meant in English. I then picked up my guitar, closed my eyes and prayed, and sang it in Biblical Hebrew. When I opened my eyes, she had big fat tears rolling down her little cheeks. The beauty and the power of the song sung in Hebrew had touched her heart, Holy Spirit to spirit.
