Pete and I decided that this year we will have many small celebrations and good times together throughout the month of August as we build up to our actual anniversary on the 31st. This is one of those quiet, special days.

We are supposed to have thunderstorms this afternoon and tonight, and the first one came through just as I had my phone in my hand. So I went out and did some recording of the things around me. Maisie and Pete both make cameo appearances!

FUN STUFF! I used to play my ukuleles a lot more than I have since we moved, mainly because previously I had a spot to keep one or two next to me, so it was convenient. And now I have a spot, so have started to pick 'em up again. While it definitely shows that I hadn't played since last fall, this was SO MUCH FUN! I always loved creating arrangements on my keyboard and recording them as backing tracks for my ukuleles. I grabbed a previously recorded track today just for fun, and decided that, no matter how unpolished it is, I'd record it anyway. So here it is! There were the neighbors' chickens, hanging out under the tree as they do every day...picking up whatever the birds dropped from the suet blocks above...when along come the turkeys that spend their days in our yard. They've been here since we moved here in 2020, we call them Tom, his brother Tom, and his other brother Tom. They follow Pete around like puppies. The chickens live nearby but enjoy coming for a snack every morning and evening, and we love having them as well...not so much, however, Tom, Tom, and Tom!

4YO granddaughter Luna at Dee's Pizza in Skidway Lake, MI. We had already eaten, my husband and grandson were eating with their club after a meeting, while the girls were amusing themselves. (We were the only ones in the restaurant, they weren't bothering anyone.)

This video shows the basics of setting up a song from the first sight-read, to a simple arrangement, saved as a registration...at least, how *I* do it. There is more that can be done, and certainly other ways to accomplish sounds and effects; when I want to set up a registration for a song fairly quickly, however, this is what I do. Well, quiet except for Bubba, our neighbor's rooster, who was also up early greeting the day! I love that Bubba is included in this video though, he's definitely part of the atmosphere! This is my first-ever garden and I am very proud of it! I have some things I see I need to trim up a bit (didn't get out there yesterday because it was raining all day!) but so many little baby vegetables are growing! It's a miracle every time I look at it!

It isn't often, anymore, that I've been making changes in our home. But today is an exception! So I decided to make a video sharing what's new!

Hubby wasn't home this evening so Maisie took me for a little walk outside, and then we played some ball.

I don't get out a whole lot except for appointments, but I had an appointment in Alma on this day. I knew that the air quality was up in the 200 range but didn't know, practically, what that meant. Until we were on our way home from the hospital - WOW! I was so flabbergasted I had to take a video!

Just a little clip I took today...my purse is at least 5 pounds (as high as my kitchen scale could go) but my service dog Maisie handles it like it's 5 ounces.

I have a LOT to learn about this phone, so these first impressions shouldn't affect anyone else's opinion or purchase choices. It is very different from any other phone I've had, and while the hardware is pretty easy - and I love it! - I'm not quite sure about their version of Android 11...actually I have plenty of hesitation about it, as you will see.

Today we were out and about, and stopped at a gas station. This shows the mayflies there. This only happens once every so-many (I have no idea HOW many) years but it's pretty stunning when it does!
