US Army Ranger Brad Paulsen earned a Silver Star for valor as a Humvee turret gunner manning a 50 cal. machine gun during the infamous Battle of Mogadishu in October 1993. The struggle to recover injured and fallen US soldiers after a daring assault was popularized by the movie Black Hawk Down. Brad Paulsen is a decorated veteran and retired carpenter from northern Illinois.
