Winter Snow Storm 2021: Bragg Ranch “Taylor Orrell, Emerson Arkansas FFA”
Challenging week for farmers & ranchers! Snow is beautiful. Then on the other hand it’s life & death for animals if we do not intervene and sometimes it’s out of our control. Highways disappear into layers of freezing snow. Everything STOPS. You need 4 Wheel-Drive vehicle, winter clothing to work in freezing weather for hours & hours. Snow is hard to walk in and everything takes more time. Top it off with busted water lines and hoses. Now your thawing water pipes with torches and using a short water hose - long hose freeze to fast - breaking ice out of tanks - to refill 100 gallon water troughs twice a day X 6 troughs. Or, busting frozen ponds with tractor. Calfs are born you pray they live. By the grace of God you are trying to survive and keep your animals alive. Looking forward to Spring! SHOUT OUT to Taylor Orrell, Emerson Arkansas FFA “YOU ROCK! 💯 Thanks!!!”.

Puckster 2F “Wishful Thinking 🤨”
Registered Hereford’s are smart. Puckster 2F is admiring the heifers wishing he could visit their pasture. Puckster 2F knows just how close to come in contact to the Hotwire with getting zapped. Thank goodness 😅 they respect the Hotwire!

Playing Around
Remington’s enjoying playing around with Taylor Orrell, SAU student, following him. They know each other well. Taylor hauled Remington to many livestock shows until he turned 2 years old (it’s a rule no cattle over 2 years old). Then, she brought him back to the farm. Remington’s a big boy!
