I own a couple Tisas 1911 pistols including the Tisas 1911 Carry model and have been very impressed with them. The are very accurate and reliable when you use good pistol magazines. The magazine is a critical component in the reliability of any handgun, but especially the 1911. There are very few differences between this pistol and the actual 1911 A1 carried by soldiers. One of the changes is the ejection port is opened up a bit more to help increase reliability of the firearm. The finish is not parkerized but is very closely matched to the original G.I. government 1911 pistols. The classic 1911 pistol does not have a lot of fancy features that we have become accustomed to on the newer model 1911s on the market. When we compare the traditional 1911A1 pistol carried by U.S. soldiers during WW2 to the new models of today, we can see several differences in features. The updated features are intended to make the 1911 pistol much more shootable and easier to aim than the classic 1911 A1. The Sig M17 and Sig M18 are a version of the Sig P320 and were adopted as the standard issue sidearm for the U.S. Military. The Glock 19x came in a very close second in the modular handgun program. Comparing the Glock 19x to the Sig P320 can give us a better understanding of why the military decided to go with Sig. The Glock 19x that was released to the public gun market does not have the manual safety like the one send for the military trials. Many gun collectors would prefer the manual safety so the gun would be more closely aligned to the submitted design. The Sig P320 M17 and M18 are virtually identical to those submitted to the military except for some of the coloring on smaller parts. One of the reasons for the military choosing the Sig is due to the ease of replacing the grip module to fit the shooter better and in the event of it being damaged. Damage to the Glock frame would result in the entire gun needing to be replaced. The real winner in the comparison between the two is the gun enthusiast.
