In this video, Bentinho leads a beautiful group meditation on the wish-fulfilled state of Shambala. In this video, Bentinho leads a questioner into seeing that it’s through discernment and letting go of self-consciousness that he can best achieve the flow state he’s looking for. Discernment is defined here as seeing God in all things, which means being guided by God, and thus being in the flow state. Self-consciousness, on the other hand, is shown to be what hinders the ability to be present to God’s guidance. Bentinho suggests imagining oneself to be formless and locationless as a way to reduce self-consciousness in interactions. When coming more from a locational, personal self, this produces interference with the real message and clarity that wants to be brought forth, and puts resistance in the speaker as the conductor of God. This means the message being spoken is going to distort. Bentinho encourages us to speak without self-consciousness and without location. In this video, Bentinho explores the connections between anger, safety, vulnerability, and the emotional guidance system. Anger serves as a protective mechanism in response to perceived threats or loss of safety. However, you can retrain your mind to adopt behaviors that are beneficial to yourself and others, such as recognizing and pausing before reacting to anger, observing interactions objectively, and creating distance from negative impulses by slowing down your thoughts and becoming aware of every nanosecond. In this way, you can become present to the micro choices you’re making in each moment, as well as the judgements you're placing on any given situation. By becoming aware of these micro, second-to-second choices, you elevate your freedom and the desire to choose that which is most beneficial. This greatly increases the probability that you will choose an empowered trajectory full of healing and learning. Bentinho also explains the function of the “gremlin” (or “ego," as most people relate to the term). The gremlin is a mechanism that perpetuates limiting beliefs, thus preventing you from experiencing and embodying the qualities of truth—such as unity, awareness of God, connection to all aspects of life, and innate freedom and joy. These beliefs, fueled by fear and shame, can be difficult to let go of, due to their deeply ingrained nature and the psychological reinforcement each negative belief perpetuates. By prioritizing the recognition of such moments, and by being willing to slow down and investigate limiting beliefs, you may effectively challenge and overcome them. May you prioritize the willingness to learn and to direct your focus towards your soul/true essence. May you prioritize authenticity, and embrace a light-hearted and playful approach towards life. May you become free from restraining beliefs, and in so doing, benefit yourself and the whole of humanity. In this video, Bentinho shares a sneak peek of his upcoming book. This specific segment of the book is about deconstructing the ego, or “the gremlin,” as he often calls it. Through his explanation of the deconstruction of the ego, Bentinho aims to help listeners distinguish between their true Self and the ego, enabling them to effectively free themselves from the ego’s control. The gremlin is our false sense of self—a deceptive self-image that we unknowingly nurture throughout our lives. It’s a survival mechanism born out of our belief in separation, and our longing for security. Unchecked, this gremlin dictates our actions and motivations, based on what it perceives will offer us the greatest amount of safety. The result is that it deprives us of our potential for growth and our capacity to love and connect genuinely with others. Bentinho further explores the evolution of individual consciousness, tracing its journey from Universal Awareness through incarnation and the veil of forgetfulness. He reveals how the illusion of separation and vulnerability gives birth to a false self that incessantly fragments life. The gremlin’s strategies, fueled by the perceived need for safety, manifest in various tactics and behaviors across life’s different facets. Recognizing these tactics is crucial for distinguishing our true Selves from the gremlin, and being able to perceive the possibilities for joy, connection, depth and intelligence that is innate to our true Self. In this video, Bentinho talks about how addiction is essentially a form of seeking something that we believe we don't have or don't contain. He emphasizes the importance of re-framing addiction by remembering that we are seekers of wholeness, truth, and liberation, and from this context, or remembrance, we can begin to respond to addictive impulses in a healthier way. When we see and accept ourselves as seekers of truth, instead of as addicts, we change our self-perception from a negative viewpoint to a positive one, thus transforming self-hatred into self-love.
