Feliz 2023 a todos!!!! En este primer video del año exploramos el camino ripollès, uno de los muchos caminos de Santiago que atraviesa Cataluña y que mismo algunos catalanes desconocen... Caminamos desde Sant Quirze de Besora a Sabadell, pasando por Manlleu, Vic, Tona, Centelles, Figaró, Granollers y otros pueblos... Lamentablemente no pudimos filmar la sección Ripoll-Sant Quirze. Como parte del video, mostramos 2 caminos para llegar a Ripoll, el Coll d' Ares, que algunos consideran el comienzo del camino ripollès y el camí del Segre, que comienza en Puigcerdà. El camino oficial termina en Palou, donde se junta con otros caminos del Pirineo y de Cap de Creus en dirección Sabadell, Terrassa, Montserrat, que ya hemos cubierto en otro video... The "Camino del Salvador" or Way of the Savior, is a less known and less travelled "camino de Santiago" that joins the Camino Francés in Leon and the "Camino Primitivo" and "Camino de la Costa" in Oviedo. Numerous devout pilgrims from the Middle Ages made a detour to visit the Cathedral of San Salvador and its relics. As an old saying goes: “Quien va a Santiago y no va al Salvador, honra al criado y deja al Señor”, which translates as “Whoever goes to Santiago and does not go to our savior, honors the servant and leaves (behind) the Lord” It is considered one of the most spectacular roads at a landscape level and the Buiza-Pajares stage is considered by many to be the best stage of ALL the roads to Santiago... with the Pajares-Pola de Lena stage not far behind... The road is not very long, with a distance of 121km, which can be done in 5 days, or more comfortably, in 6 or 7 days... But it is a complex and high difficulty route. The terrain involves numerous ups and downs almost every day and it is also mandatory to carry food for several days, since the most towns with albergues do not have all the services... We are going to visit the amazing ruins of the basilicas of Agios Stefanos (Saint Stephen, in English) and its amazing blue flag beach. These old christian churches are considered to be the most grandiose and the best preserved, of the basilicas found in Kos. They were built around 469CE and 554CE, recorded dates of the largest earthquakes registered in the island and they were destroyed by the last of these earthquakes. They were constructed over a base of stone, with locally sourced, reddish limestone, with white marble columns and ionic capitals.
