Let's Go (X2)
Two great artists, two completely different tunes, just one name. Here are The Routers and The Cars, with "Let's Go".
This one's kinda tricky, because if you listen to the Cars' song, you can tell it was loosely based on The Routers' song, but it's not a cover version.

The Heat Is On (X2)
Two great artists, two completely different tunes, just one name. Here are Glenn Frey and The Power Station with "The Heat Is On". The Power Station track sounds like "Some Like It Hot", but it's a separate track they did, kind of an alternate take, and they called it "The Heat Is On".

Making Movies (Unreleased)
Dire Straits (publicly) released six studio albums, three live albums and one E.P.
With the exception of the first album, every full studio album they released, had a "title" track recorded for it. And with the exception of "Making Movies", every studio album that had a title track, contained it on the disc or tape. "Making Movies " was never publicly released, but I found it in a set called "On Every Demo".
So, here's the title track to Making Movies, by Dire Straits.

Werewolves Of London (demo)
"Werewolves of London" is a song by American singer-songwriter Warren Zevon, written by Zevon, LeRoy Marinell and Waddy Wachtel. It was released on Excitable Boy (1978), Zevon's third studio album. The track featured Fleetwood Mac's Mick Fleetwood and John McVie on drums and bass respectively. The single was released by Asylum Records and was a top 40 US hit, the only one of Zevon's career, reaching No. 21 on the US Billboard Hot 100 that May.
The song began as a joke by Phil Everly (of The Everly Brothers) to Zevon in 1975, over two years before the recording sessions for Excitable Boy. Everly had watched a television broadcast of the 1935 film Werewolf of London and "suggested to Zevon that he adapt the title for a song and dance craze." Zevon, Marinell and Wachtel played with the idea and wrote the song in about 15 minutes, all contributing lyrics that were transcribed by Zevon's then-wife Crystal. However, none of them took the song seriously.
Soon after, Zevon's friend Jackson Browne saw the lyrics and thought "Werewolves of London" had potential and began performing the song during his own live concerts. T Bone Burnett also performed the song, on the first leg of Bob Dylan's Rolling Thunder Revue tour in the autumn of 1975. Burnett's version of the song included alternate or partially improvised lyrics mentioning stars from classical Hollywood cinema, along with mentions of vanished labor leader Jimmy Hoffa, and adult film stars Marilyn Chambers and Linda Lovelace. "Excitable Boy" and "Werewolves of London" were considered for, but not included on, Zevon's self-titled second album in 1976.
According to Wachtel, "Werewolves of London" was "the hardest song to get down in the studio I've ever worked on." However, Wachtel "laid down his solo in one take." They tried at least seven different configurations of musicians in the recording studio before being satisfied with McVie and Fleetwood's contributions. Bob Glaub and Russ Kunkel were among the several musicians who auditioned; Zevon rejected them because he thought their playing was "too cute". Although 59 takes were recorded, Browne and Zevon selected the second take for the final mix. Wachtel recalled that the session began in the evening and went into the next morning. The protracted studio time and musicians' fees led to the song eating up most of the album's budget.

Lee Ho Fook in London—the werewolf goes here to get beef chow mein.
The song's lyrics "He was looking for the place called Lee Ho Fook's / Gonna get a big dish of beef chow mein" refer to Lee Ho Fook, a Chinese restaurant on 15 Gerrard Street in London's Chinatown, which is in the West End of London. Egon Ronay's Dunlop Guide for 1974 discussed the restaurant and said it served Cantonese cuisine. In concerts, Zevon would often change the line "You better stay away from him, he'll rip your lungs out, Jim / I'd like to meet his tailor", to "And he's looking for James Taylor".
Over Zevon's objections, Elektra Records chose "Werewolves of London" as the album's first single (he preferred "Johnny Strikes Up the Band" or "Tenderness on the Block"). The song was a quick hit, staying in the Billboard Top 40 chart for over a month.

Brown Eyed Girl (Demo)
According to what I've read, way back in 1966, at Mississippi State, there was a sophomore named James Delaney Buffett. He went to a house party one night, & there was a guy in a corner of the front room, strumming a guitar. He was surrounded by girls. Young Jimmy thought to himself, 'If I could learn to play guitar, I could get a lot of girls, too.'
A few songs later, the guitar player took a break & when the girls wandered off, young Mr. Buffett went over and introduced himself. He asked the guy if he could teach him how to play. The guy showed Jimmy the three basic cords, he needed to play almost anything. The next week, Jimmy bought himself a guitar, and the rest, as they say, is history.
The guy who taught him those three chords was none other than Mississippi State Junior, George Ivan Morrison, better known as "Van".
Here's the demo of his best known hit, "Brown Eyed Girl", which the late Jimmy Buffett did a cover of in 1983, as a tribute to the man who taught him those three chords.

Bob Seger & Glenn Frey went way back to Michigan in the late 60's. There was a time when they were almost in the same band together, but it never happened. Bob did write a song for the Eagles, though. He only performed it once that I know of and here it is.

This video has parts 1 and 2 combined without the fade in the middle.

Scarborough Fair (Cover Version)
David Knopfler (born 27 December 1952) is a British musician. He was born in Scotland, but raised in Blyth, near Newcastle upon Tyne, England. Together with his older brother Mark Knopfler, John Illsley, and Pick Withers, he founded the rock band Dire Straits in 1977, serving as rhythm guitarist on their first two albums. After quitting the band in 1980 during the recording of their third album, Knopfler embarked upon a solo career as a recording artist. Knopfler initially created smaller record labels, publishing companies, and indie labels.
"Scarborough Fair" (Roud 12, Child 2) is a traditional English ballad. The song lists a number of impossible tasks given to a former lover who lives in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. The "Scarborough/Whittingham Fair" variant was most common in Yorkshire and Northumbria, where it was sung to various melodies, often using Dorian mode, with refrains resembling "parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme" and "Then she'll be a true love of mine." It appears in Traditional Tunes by Frank Kidson published in 1891, who claims to have collected it from Whitby.
The famous melody was collected from Mark Anderson (1874–1953), a retired lead miner from Middleton-in-Teesdale, County Durham, England, by Ewan MacColl in 1947. This version was recorded by a number of musicians in the 20th century, including the most iconic version by the 1960s folk rock duo Simon & Garfunkel, who learned it from Martin Carthy. However, a slightly different version (referred to as "The Cambric Shirt", or "Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme") was recorded by John Lomax several years earlier in 1939, in the United States.
