A Miata Drive To The Krispy Car Meet - August 4th, 2023
I took the Miata over to the Krispy Kreme Car Meet. I was thinking maybe a few cars would be at this event. But I soon realized that it was a happening event! The whole parking lot was packed with cars and kids, all looking to get a lil crazy on a hot August evening. Early after some rowdiness by the patrons, police had the parking lots surrounded and began issuing warnings that anyone not leaving the even will be arrested. Fun times!

A Miata Drive To The Prosperity Car Show 2023
In this video, I take the Miata out for a drive over to the Prosperity Car Show in Executive Hills. I first drove by the Downtown Overland Park's Farmers Market, then I stopped by the Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center to vote. After arriving and snapping off a few photos, my cell phone just died on me. I'm not sure why, it wasn't the battery, it had plenty of juice. It might have been the heat, but it was only about 95° out. So anyways, I went back to the Miata and retrieved the Wolfang action camera to get some footage of the car show. The winds began to pick during the car show, blowing tables and canopies around.
After the car show I drove through Corporate Woods, along the construction off Antioch road at the Brookridge Country Club. A new mixed development is starting t break ground on the whole project. I then drove through a part of Pinehurst Estates and my old neighborhood off Hardy Street before making my way back home. Unfortunately my digital card filled up before I made it home, so the camera shuts off early.
This video footage was taken on Saturday, July 29th, 2023.

On this Saturday, I drove the Miata to a friends funeral from work, David Rice, who tragically happened to pass away suddenly one night. So sad. This was more of a "Celebration Of Life", given by his family and friends. The chapel was packed with people. On the way, I drove through The Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, Missouri.
I recorded this drive on Saturday, December 10th, 2022, with the Wolfang Camera.

MLB's All-Star Game Yearly History - A.L. vs N.L.
A timeline of the yearly history of Major League Baseball's All-Star game between the American League and the National League - from 1933 to 2022 - in 4K. The score for each game is provided for each year, the name of the stadium or ball park the games was played in, the winning and losing pitchers of record, as well as who hit home runs in each game, and also who the MVP of each game was, which the MLB didn't start awarding until the year 1962.
Once again, this animation will look best on a big screen TV.
This was created using Bender 3.4.1 and iMovie on July 10th, 2023.

National League Yearly Batting Average Champions - 1876 to 2022
My latest Blender animation project, which showcases all the MLB National League batting champions from 1876 all the way through 2022. Each champion is displayed with their very own pillar, with the height of each pillar correlates to their batting average for that year, along with their team flag flying above, the year, their name, and batting average stats in gold lettering on each of their pillars. The higher the average the taller the pillar is.
This is a follow up to my American League version I did earlier, only this time it was much more taxing to complete. The history of the National League is longer than the American League with seasons going back to 1876. So I had to add 25 more pillars and flags to this animation. With the added pillars and flags, I ended up having to add an additional 2,600 frames to the sequence. Way too many!!!! I first tried rendering it in the Cycles Engine, but it would have taken about 7 days to render it all. And plus, during the first few hundred frames, the flag seem to not wave as often, sometimes freezing without any changes, from one frame to the next. So I decided to switch over to using the Eevee rendering engine instead, which of course renders faster, but doesn't quite give you the quality results as the Cycles engine does ( better shadows and light bounces ).
All in all, the Eevee render took about a little over 30 hours to crunch the 7,600 frames total. Yet I still got uneven and jittery results on the waving flags. This is even after changing the settings to the wind simulator three different times! Anyways, at this point, I was just desperate to get a finished product, and this is what I ended up with. Not exactly what I was hoping for, but maybe next time, I can figure out a way to keep the flag waving smoothly. I tried baking in the physics results multiple times, but each time I did, Blender would crash at the end, and I would have to close and reopen the application, only to find out all my baking was gone.
Anyways, I hope you enjoy this animation. It was long week of frustration for me to get it done, but I learned a lot in doing so. This NL version, I made the names, dates and batting averages much larger on each pillar so as to read better when displayed on smaller devices. It all looks great on a big screen TV, but most people are probably watching on their phones and tablets.

Oddballs & Obscurities Car Show 2023
Oddballs & Obscurities Car Show at the Kansas City Auto Museum in Olathe, Kansas on Saturday, June 24th, 2023. There was a chance of rain so that was one reason it was a low turnout. Plus it was an even that was rescheduled from 2 weeks earlier because of rain. But there was still some nice cars to look at. The Peugeot was one of them.

Trent's Trail Cam Action - April of 2023
Trail cam footage of activity during the month of April of 2023. I've been kind of busy lately working on my animations, so I have neglected to get any trail cam footage posted. So I thought I would just take a bunch of the clips and put them all into one video. One of the clips was the first time the cam has caught a rabbit, and the first time it has caught a dog, I'm guessing it was the next door neighbors dog.
These clips were all taken during April of 2023.

A Miata Drive To Work & Back - June 28th, 2023
A morning Miata drive to work in downtown Kansas City, Missouri and a drive back home later in the day. It was one hot day with temperatures reaching 97°. The sky covered with clouds to help make it one steamy and humid Wednesday.
Lately I've been spending a lot of time doing my animations, so I felt I needed to do another Miata drive video. Hopefully I can do more soon.
This video was shot on Wednesday, June 28th, 2023 with the Wolfang Camera. Unfortunately, the mini SD card card wouldn't record in 4K, so I had to set it to 1080P. But the results still look pretty good.

American League Yearly Batting Average Champions - 1901 to 2022
My latest Blender animation project, which showcases all the MLB American League batting champions from 1901 all the way through 2022. Each champion is displayed with their very own pillar, with the height of each pillar correlates to their batting average for that year, along with their team flag flying above, the year, their name, and batting average stats in gold lettering on each of their pillars. The higher the average the taller the pillar is.
The first animation sequence was done using the Eevee Engine in Blender, while the second animation sequence was done using the Cycles Engine in Blender. The Cycles Engine will give better results, but usually takes 10 times longer for each frame to render. One Cycles frame ended up taking about 1 minute and 10 seconds to render, while the Eevee Engine frames took about 3 to 5 seconds to render. I misjudged the speed aspect the first time around, only utilizing 1,500 frames, which made the animation play way too fast. So I went back and expanded from 1,500 frames to 4,500 frames, which gave it a much smoother and well paced animation. I wasn't happy with that video either, so I went back into Blender and expanded it to 6,000 frames, so it now runs much more smooth. I also corrected a few errors I made on some flags. Notice which way the wind is blowing and which way the clouds are moving. I can't get everything right. ha ha
If you want to be able to read the names and averages clearly, you can always pause the video here and there.

Three Spinning Arrays In Blender
This was a project I began working on about a month ago and at the time I wasn't sure on how to give the scene proper lighting. Now that I have learned a little bit more about how to light a project I was able to move forward with it. Once I completed the animation, I thought I would try rendering it using Blender Cycles instead of Blender Eevee. Each Frame took about 1 minute to generate, but I think it was worth it, since I discovered a Cycles render would give the objects better reflection values. So this project turns out to be my first one rendered using Cycles, except for the beginning and ending titles. Those were still rendered with Eevee. I was also able to incorporate my new "Like & Subscribe" green screen overlay with The Duck Song Duck flying in his newly painted red biplane. Just give that Duck one juicy grape and he'll likely do anything!
This project was completed on June 1st, 2023, using Blender 3.4.1 and iMovie.

Zeus Got The Indoor Blues
Zeus The Cat, not able to go outdoors anymore because he might end up as lunch for the neighborhood foxes, longs to go outside in the backyard. He’s so close he can almost touch freedom. But all he can attain is just the smell of the freedom he once had. Oh well, just more time to lounge around the house and sleep.
