.
A mangrove is a shrub or tree that grows in coastal saline or brackish water. The term is also used for tropical coastal vegetation consisting of such species. Mangroves occur worldwide in the tropics and subtropics and even some temperate coastal areas, mainly between latitudes 30° N and 30° S, with the greatest mangrove area within 5° of the equator.[1][2] Mangrove plant families first appeared during the Late Cretaceous to Paleocene epochs, and became widely distributed in part due to the movement of tectonic plates. The oldest known fossils of mangrove palm date to 75 million years ago.[2]
Mangroves are salt-tolerant trees, also called halophytes, and are adapted to live in harsh coastal conditions. They contain a complex salt filtration system and a complex root system to cope with saltwater immersion and wave action. They are adapted to the low-oxygen conditions of waterlogged mud,[3] but are most likely to thrive in the upper half of the intertidal zone.[4]
The mangrove biome, often called the mangrove forest or mangal, is a distinct saline woodland or shrubland habitat characterized by depositional coastal environments, where fine sediments (often with high organic content) collect in areas protected from high-energy wave action. The saline conditions tolerated by various mangrove species range from brackish water, through pure seawater (3 to 4% salinity), to water concentrated by evaporation to over twice the salinity of ocean seawater (up to 9% salinity).[5][6]
Beginning in 2010[7][1] remote sensing technologies and global data have been used to assess areas, conditions and deforestation rates of mangroves around the world.[2] In 2018, the Global Mangrove Watch Initiative released a new global baseline which estimates the total mangrove forest area of the world as of 2010 at 137,600 km2 (53,100 sq mi), spanning 118 countries and territories.[2][7] A 2022 study on losses and gains of tidal wetlands estimates a 3,700 km2 net decrease in global mangrove extent from 1999-2019, which was only partially offset by gains of 1,800 km2. [8] Mangrove loss continues due to human activity, with a global annual deforestation rate estimated at 0.16%, and per-country rates as high as 0.70%. Degradation in quality of remaining mangroves is also an important concern.[2]
There is interest in mangrove restoration for several reasons. Mangroves support sustainable coastal and marine ecosystems. They protect nearby areas from tsunamis and extreme weather events. Mangrove forests are also effective at carbon sequestration and storage and mitigate climate change.[2][9][10] As the effects of climate change become more severe, mangrove ecosystems are expected to help local ecosystems adapt and be more resilient to changes like extreme weather and sea level rise. The success of mangrove restoration may depend heavily on engagement with local stakeholders, and on careful assessment to ensure that growing conditions will be suitable for the species chosen.[4]

مشروع النهر الاخضر في مدينة شنقيط التاريخية في موريتانيا The Green River in Chinguetti , Mauritania

Nouakchott Google Earth Timelapse (1985 - 2022 )
Nouakchott was a mid-sized village of little importance until 1958 when it was chosen as the capital of the nascent nation of Mauritania. At the time, it was designed and built to accommodate 15,000 people. However, beginning in the 1970s, a vast number of Mauritanians began moving to Nouakchott because environmental conditions in their home villages had become too harsh due to drought and increasing desertification. As of 2013, the city had a population of just under a million people. Many of the newcomers settled in slum areas of the city that were poorly maintained and extremely overcrowded. However, more recently, the living conditions of some of these inhabitants have improved.
The city is the hub of the Mauritanian economy. It is home to a deepwater port and Nouakchott–Oumtounsy International Airport, one of the country's two international airports. It also hosts the University of Nouakchott and several other more specialized institutions of higher learning.

ZHA Inaugurates Design Museum with Meta-Technology Exhibition ( Zaha Hadid Metaverse )
ZHA Inaugurates Design Museum in Seoul with Meta-Technology Exhibition ( Zaha Hadid Metaverse )
Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) has collaborated with Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA) for the 'Meta-Horizons: The Future Now' exhibition in Seoul, Korea. Designed by ZHA to promote the instigation and exchange of new ideas and to showcase innovative technologies and media, the inaugural exhibition of DDP’s new Design Museum explores ZHA’s work across multiple fields, from digital technology to artificial intelligence and virtual reality, featuring the firm's recent designs, process, and research that incorporates immersive technologies and new fabrication techniques. The exhibition will be on display from 26 May - 18 September 2022.
DDP opened in 2014 and has become a cultural hub and meeting place at the center of the Dongdaemun district in Seoul. The exhibition details the practice’s collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach of developing digital design tools, and the opportunities made possible when working simultaneously between virtual and physical environments. Three zones within the exhibition: Innovation, Imagination, and Interaction, will be providing visitors with a framework for exploring the work of ZHA’s four research teams: Computation & Design (ZH CODE); Virtual Reality (ZHVR); Analytics & Insights (ZH A+I); and Social Interaction Processes (ZHA Social).
The INNOVATION: Process & Research zone highlights innovations in the built environment that are driven by ZHA’s process and research. This introductory section of the exhibition focuses on collaborations across different disciplines which rely on a research-based approaches towards the design process and physical prototyping. Projects in this zone include the recently completed Striatus, a 3D-printed concrete bridge, and an architectural platform used to create customized modular homes.
The IMAGINATION: Design & Virtual zone highlights the imagination and communication of design vision and how it has increased the possibilities of working between the physical and digital realms. In this zone, ZHA’s recent ventures into designing virtual worlds or the Metaverse such as the cyber urban incubator ‘Liberland’ and ‘NFTism’, a virtual gallery space that explores architecture and social interaction, are displayed.
The INTERACTION: Technologies & Collaboration zone showcases the ongoing development of technologies across all stages of design, enhancing the seamless user experience across the cyber physical, mixed reality, augmented and virtual reality. In this zone, the projects presented explore new possibilities for interaction developed by ZHVR including 'Project Correl 1.0', a collaborative experiment in multi-presence virtual reality illustrating the development of complex assemblies inside virtual space, as well as the 'LOOP' mixed-reality experience 'NEW WORLDS' which is a design simulation created by ZHVR for product testing and design development.
In addition, the exhibition marks the debut of RAS + ZHA: 'Architecting the Metaverse', a collaboration between ZHA and Refik Anadol Studio (RAS), intersecting architecture, art, technology, and artificial intelligence. For this project, multi-model AI algorithms have been used to analyze image and script data compiled and composed by ZHA. These algorithms result in comprehensive datasets that represent the practice’s portfolio of works. Visitors will experience this artwork within an immersive room, showcasing the experimental perspective of the metaverse to come.

Tour In Z-Line House By MSSM Associates In SEMARANG, INDONESIA
Tour In Z-Line House By MSSM Associates In SEMARANG, INDONESIA
Text description provided by the architects. The architects at MSSM Associates have always been fascinated with the idea of combining the purest and most elementary architectural knowledge with a parametric approach to design. The Z-line house was designed with this particular mindset; A single and specific design approach that unites various geometrical elements into one working geometry solution.
The geometric exploration of the home’s morphology aimed to maximize the existing site’s potential, a series of calculated geometric and sculptural interventions on the facade exploits the tension between conflicting elements. On the other hand, the internal areas are designed to have a fluid transition between the spaces in both the horizontal as well as vertical dimensions.
One significant feature that defines the design of the project is the application of a parametric-based system for geometry and structure. The geometry is optimized to control the water flow from the heavy rainfall in a tropical climate. The approach was driven through a detailed solar analysis on the structure, with great attentiveness given to the eastern and western facades. The distribution of the facades’ openings was heavily contingent on view axes, occupant height, and the uniform distribution of natural light.
The main feature of the house is the 7 meters long cantilevered swimming pool. The pool area is placed in the front area of the house. This decision was made due to the extravagant view located in front of the house. The 7 meters cantilevered structure was built with a careful structure calculation due to the extraordinary load upon it.
The interplay between function, form, light, environmental performance, social response, and local assimilation has transformed what is usually considered to be a mundane residential dwelling, into one that has pushed the boundaries of construction and design evolving into an architectural landmark that has become unique to the fabric of the city.

Tour In Sky Pool House By Guz Architects In SINGAPORE
Tour In Sky Pool House By Guz Architects In SINGAPORE
Text description provided by the architects. The client for the Sky Pool house originally intended to make alterations and additions to the existing house. However, after designing for some months they realized that the existing house really did not match their new requirements and it was more ideal to just start from scratch. The site sits on an elevated plot at the end of a small cul de sac, and is considered a prime residential area of Singapore.
In land scarce Singapore, greenery and space for nature comes at a premium, so we conceived a design that satisfied the client’s brief, while giving greenery back to the neighbourhood and house. The layered roof gardens not only provide lush greenery when viewed from each level of the house, but also help to cool the house passively through transpiration of the plants. When viewed from outside, these overhanging plants soften the edges of what is quite a large house.
The house is approached by a short driveway which then leads up to the front door via a series of garden steps, and into a basement garage via a short ramp. This approach was conceived to be as green as possible, with soft greenery enveloping all. The client also requested that he have a rooftop gym and swimming pool, to take advantage of the distant views from the elevated site. By placing an acrylic window in the base of the swimming pool, we allowed light to flood into the atrium void space below.
This atrium was in the heart of the house and allowed light to penetrate into what is quite a deep floor plan. Because it was under a swimming pool, very little heat is transmitted into the building, which is important in Singapore’s hot tropical climate. To also help passively cool the house, we provided large roof overhangs to shade from the tropical sun and rain. Photovoltaic cells also are installed on the roof.

Tour In Dasht e Chehel Villa By 35-51 ARCHITECTURE Office In MOSHA, IRAN
Tour In Dasht-e-Chehel Villa By 35-51 ARCHITECTURE Office In MOSHA, IRAN
Text description provided by the architects. Dasht-e-chehel villa is an experience to reach an external-internal life in a cold climate. It is about how to stay out of the building and experience snow and rain but still remain in a safe zone. And how to be inside without losing sensory, visual and psychological connection with the outside. And also how to blur the boundary line between inside and outside to reach a greater freedom.
At the beginning of the design, due to the extension of the ground in the north-south direction (with length of 50 and width of 20 meters), we decided to place the building in the same direction of ground and closer to the north border, in order to benefit the beautiful view of the north.
Then, by making a diagonal cut along the building, we brought the north view to the heart of the building, and in addition, an outdoor roof was created toward the yard that would allow the physical presence of humans during snow, rain and also let them use the midday heat (while being protected from direct sunlight). By the way, residents are not limited to the inside of the building and they can use a larger part of the yard in cold seasons.
In the southern part of the building, by creating a glass chamber with a thick stone wall behind (Trombe wall) and some openings at its top and bottom), the thermal energy radiated during the day can be stored and used to heat the building at night.
In the end, by avoiding flattening or stepping the site (common solution for the sloping lands), the horizontal and vertical access routes became ramps to provide more smooth and comfortable movements throughout the building and enhance the feeling of freedom.

Dnipro Metro Stations By Zaha Hadid Architects In Ukraine
Zaha Hadid Architects Begins Construction on Dnipro Metro Stations
Following excavation and engineering works on Dnipro’s metro line in 2016, Zaha Hadid Architects has begun construction on three new metro stations. The Teatralna, Tsentalna, and Muzeina stations, all designed by the renowned architecture firm, will connect the residential, commercial, cultural, and academic institutions in Dnipro’s eastern districts with the city center and the Dnipro-Holovnyi railway station.
The new metro line extension aims to reduce traffic congestion in central Dnipro, and provide the area's public attractions, such as the parks, beaches, and recreational facilities on the banks of the Dnipro River, with easy access from the city center. The interiors are designed to facilitate circulation and navigate passengers in an intuitive manner, enhancing their experience to ensure safe and comfortable transport across the city.
The design of the stations honors the city's rich traditions of craftsmanship, metallurgy, and manufacturing through the welded steel entrance pavilions. These sculpted entrances comprise of thin structural shells made from recycled steel from Dnipro’s local foundries. Each pavilion is situated within a new public plaza, providing an easily recognizable landmark that marks an access to the city’s metro. To further enhance the station's strong identity, the design of the ticket halls uniquely compliment each station while the interior concourses, corridors, and platforms that share a cohesive formal and spatial logic.
All of Dnipro’s three stations are expected to provide passengers with complete services in 2025.
In September of last year, Zaha Hadid Architects ranked first in a design competition for the redevelopment of the Vilnius railway station complex and surrounding area in Lithuania, with its ‘Green Connect’ proposal. Prioritizing pedestrians and cyclists, the selected proposal upgrades the Vilnius railway station by incorporating a new public bridge over the railway tracks to connect the Naujininkai district to the south with the city center and Vilnius old town.

Residence in Saronida By MPLUSM Architects In GREECE
Residence in Saronida By MPLUSM Architects In SARONIDA, GREECE
Text description provided by the architects. Highly perched on the rocky terrain of the mountain, this site offers sweeping views of the seafront.
The unwinding road along the Saronic Gulf coast leads to Saronida, 31 km southeast of Athens. The steeply inclined land of this house featured various small scrubs and a palette of white, pink, and beige rocks.
Upon entry, the visitor is faced with three enclosed bridges that are perched on the rock. One passes under the first in order to be allowed in the house. On these bridges, no openings are discernible, so from this entry sequence, their function is not disclosed. A large white pivoting door allows access to the ground floor. At this point, the view towards the sea is framed by a covered courtyard.
Large expanses of glass enclose the living areas of the house, allowing uninterrupted views. The living room and the dining room are unified –a backlit wall separates them from the kitchen area. Calligraphic incisions on this wall are reflected on the glass façade during nighttime. A linear pool forms the outer edge of the ground floor, cantilevered on one of its narrow sides. On its opposite side, a balcony extends the covered outdoor area, in direct relation with the kitchen. Additional access to this area is enabled from the back, as one passes underneath the three bridges, a space often featuring patches of light.
A staircase leads to the first floor or to the basement. Centrally located next to the entry area, it anchors the center of the three enclosed bridges. Its cantilever structure offers slices of the sea view upon descent to the basement.
The two remaining enclosed bridges contain bedrooms; they connect to the rock behind through planted private courtyards. On this floor, access is also allowed to the eastern terrace, a planted relaxation area -the third bridge protects it from prevailing winds. As one reaches the bedrooms, the glass connecting corridors momentarily allow views of the sea and the mountain. The basement contains guest, personnel areas, and garage space. On this floor, a covered courtyard opens to the adjacent gym area, a space backed by exposed rock. Thus on this floor one is reminded once again of the natural rocky landscape and the anchoring of the house into it.

Tour In The Ledge By Wallmakers In PEERMADE, INDIA
Tour In The Ledge By Wallmakers In PEERMADE, INDIA
Text description provided by the architects. Perched on the edge of a mountain, ‘The Ledge’ is a residence in Peeremedu that is designed based on a dream sequence. The inquisition that leads one to walk till the edge of a ridge or a child-like whim to jump from the top of a cliff can be attributed to a human desire to walk ahead into the clouds even after the mountain is over. Hence the building has been designed as a shard that seems to be protruding as an extension of the mountain into the air.
Camouflaged within the natural landscape the roof and the external walls are made out of treated Casuarina poles which is a fast-growing tree whose wood is considered as waste and used only for scaffolding and fencing. Here the long span Casuarina-ferrocement composite roof is further supported in between with the help of Casuarina trees planted at the onset of construction in the central courtyard of the house.
Finding huge quantities of small loose stones during the excavation process for the foundation led to an improvisation in the SHOBRI wall (Shuttered Debris Wall). These stones were utilised in the walls by inserting them into the Debris mix in the shutters as alternating bands.
Being located in a hill station most of the openings have been designed in glass to retain the heat and to take in the splendid views of the valley. The grills are a collage of scrap cable trays and wasted cut pieces wood has been assembled together to form the flooring of the house.
The Casuarina poles on the roof is staggeringly placed at different levels so that they double up as an outdoor party space with tables and benches. But the crux of this home still revolves around creating a living space that gives the best of both worlds, living inside a mountain and on a ledge that is up in the clouds.

Tour In Strong Arm House By MCK Architecture & Interiors In MIDDLE PARK, AUSTRALIA
Tour In Strong Arm House By MCK Architecture & Interiors In MIDDLE PARK, AUSTRALIA
Text description provided by the architects. Strong Arm House is the bold response to a demanding brief to suit a busy family of seven who requested a flexible and practical home to suit their evolving needs. A modest bungalow is reconfigured and extended via a contemporary addition to create a sense of place for the young family.
Functionally providing space to eat, play and rest, a home to share years of moments with those closest in one’s life, and to have peace of mind or solitude when needed. Moving towards the rear of the existing home, one anticipates something greater through glimpses of the dynamic interplay of punched light slots and sculptural floating forms creating a dialogue with the existing dwelling.
The abstract projecting pool unites the living space with the garden. Simple planning combined with a robust material palette ensures continuity between the old and the new and forms a backdrop to the color of family life.

Tour In Hahyodaily House By UONE ARCHITECTS In SEOGWIPO, SOUTH KOREA
Tour In Hahyodaily House By UONE ARCHITECTS In SEOGWIPO, SOUTH KOREA
Text description provided by the architects. Site. There is a 40-meter-road to the northwest and an old 4-meter-road to the northeast. The 40-meter-road is a noisy place caused by many vehicles. The old 4-meter-road has served as the main road of the village of Hahyo before being created the 40-meter-road. However, this road is still frequently used.
Camellia tree. Since a long time ago, camellia trees have been placed on this land with stone walls for more than 50 years. They are creating a place of conversation for villagers and serving as a shelter. After completing the 40-meter-road, the camellia tree serves as a road sign for Hahyo villagers. Preserved camellia tree is considered to serve as a road sign for the future.
A stonewall. The inside of the stone walls reflects the daily life of the village of Hahyo. The 1.8-meter-high stone wall is arranged parallel to the old 4-meter-road. It is attractive to villagers and tourists and blocks the noise and danger from the 40-meter-road. Also, individual spaces get created by arranging the stone walls to form appropriate gardens. The stone wall is not a common wall because it is a center of maintaining the daily life of the village and simultaneously creates a new place.
Road sign. As the mass formed parallel to the 4-meter-road with the axis of the building, it emphasizes the directionality along with the camellia and stone walls and would be a road sign in Hahyo village. Relationship of various spaces. There is a level difference of 1 meter from north to south. Suitable interior and exterior spaces containing various heights and locations based on topography, empty spaces in buildings, and stone walls determine space compositions. It captures a series of interior and exterior sequences and the daily life in the village of Hahyo.
An indoor window. By Making indoor windows on the second and third floors, layers of each space could be formed. The layers create various spatial relationships and depth with the outside through another interior. Curtain. The curtain is installed at the viewing point of Mt. Halla in the stairs and corridors. It serves to secure privacy as well as block the noise and unfavorable environment from 40-meter-roads. As the curtain opens and closes, the relationship with the outside varies. Bathroom and Toilet Garden. Traditional closed bathrooms and toilets are stuffy and challenging to get internal/external relationships. Small gardens containing sky and nature in the bathroom and toilet provide a sense of openness and internal/eternal relationships.

Zaha Hadid Architects Completes Infinitus Plaza in Guangzhou, China
Zaha Hadid Architects Completes Infinitus Plaza in China
The Infinuts Plaza headquarters designed by Zaha Hadid Architects was inaugurated today, proposing a gateway for the new Baiyun Central Business District in Guangzhou, China. Developed on the site of a decommissioned airport traversed by a metro tunnel, the project proposes two distinct volumes with central atria that connect at multiple levels, resembling an infinity loop. Bringing together offices, research facilities, labs and a learning centre, the design proposes a work environment centred around connectivity and adaptability.
The morphology creates a series of loops that foster interaction between departments and define a series of outdoor spaces that promote a sense of community. The bridges house various communal spaces, including gyms and exercise rooms, as well as a restaurant, café and recreation areas, while the gardens and outdoor landscaped areas are complemented by a jogging track and walking paths on the roof. The project incorporates a series of sustainability strategies and construction technologies meant to reduce the operational and life cycle carbon emissions.
Structural optimization reduced the amount of concrete used and increased the proportion of recycled materials, primarily steel, glass, wood and gypsum components. Solar heat gain was reduced by carefully considering the outdoor terraces that self-shade and the façade shading panels. Additionally, the atriums are cooled by a network of sprinklers that spray collected water particles onto the ETFE membrane of the roofs, a process operated by a smart building management system.

Tour In H House By G+ Architects In MỸ THO, VIETNAM
Tour In H House By G+ Architects In MỸ THO, VIETNAM
Text description provided by the architects. This is a small villa for a nuclear family located on a lively and crowded main street of My Tho city – Tien Giang province. Its area is not too large. In the limited site, the dwelling needs to ensure the building density and distances to create a quiet and private space for family members. It makes them relax when coming back home after a busy working day. The architect's desire is always to bring not only a convenient residence but also experiences with various spaces and the attracted natural elements consisting of light rhythm and windy journey.
Behind a simple concrete fence, through a large front harmonious garden, the building’s façade is gradually stretching under the shadow of trees, which makes the villa architecture own a modest appearance. The methods of large terrace’s roofs and wooden ventilation doors limit the sunlight while we can still open the glass doors from the inside increase maximum the interaction between the interior and exterior world of this habitat.
About the solutions for space, the movement of the upper floor to behind in order to maintain the setback distance and the role of an architecture building in the current urban context. The floor plan extends in many directions helps natural light and wind come through all rooms and create several small landscapes such as gardens, pools serving the common and independent spaces. There are long walls reflecting the change of sunlight and the shadow of the trees during the day. It leads the inside spaces toward the nature outside which expresses the close relationship that is necessary for the condition of tropical climate.
The family members usually gather together for entertainment activities. Therefore, the kitchen, dining, and common rooms are designed to link to the swimming pool, so that the members can become fond of each other. The materials are reduced intentionally to define the architecture element only as a background for all human activities and to provide a calm atmosphere. Finally, with this building, we want to express our points about spatial thinking that is appropriate for the local context.

Tour In Casa Cloud By BOONDESIGN In BANGKOK, THAILAND
Text description provided by the architects. Casa Cloud, a paradigm of shifting landscape that reflects both its own character and that of the surrounding environment. When considering the relationship between the interior and exterior, it is more of a fusion. The house fuses man with his environment. With interconnectivity between the shifting landscape and the house’s platform, the connection is so tight that separation is not possible. This creates atmospheric conditions that are at once distinct and continual. The design thus seems like the coexistence of two contrasting elements of the manmade and the natural, the solid and the fluid, the dark and the light that define and redefine each other, creating a unified living environment for the house’s inhabitants.
While a room’s atmosphere is unmistakable, an attempt to explain its causes is defeated by the unity of total circumstances. The house treats the distinction between architectural and natural conditions as it does not matter. Thus, the fusion between interior and exterior is not only a blending together, but also a crossover and integration of previously separate elements.
Casa Cloud is an architecture that tries to disclose similarities of its own elements and that of its environment that make up its distinct situation. In order to achieve this, the building must accept the fact that its effects are codependent on the potentialities of a given situation of its environment. When a building operates, the environment is not external to it but internal. In our experience, neither the house nor its milieu obtrudes themselves into our awareness.
During daily activities, the actions, not the setting, occupy our attention. Yet focus on the activities in the house does not eliminate the presence of the architecture and landscape, but treats them as the marginal elements of awareness. The decisive characteristic of these margins is their indistinctness or seamlessness. Here, architecture act as if it were part of the natural world.
In its work, the house is what it was designed to be, but it also acts as if it were a part of the world that was never designed. This is how architecture creates the atmosphere of a situation, through its enactments and performances. Already in its prosaic and internal functionality, the building then takes on a role that is offered to it by its external environmental conditions. It is a way of articulating what the building does, how it behaves in accordant to and in contrast to itself as if it were part of the world, it finds itself within. Casa Cloud’s investment, both in its own internal tasks and the unseen fullness of what the external world offers set the stage for its situation to perform as if it has been created by both the architect and by nature itself.

Tour In Kelapa House By Architects 49 (Phuket) Limited In ตำบล บ่อผุด, THAILAND
Text description provided by the architects. When we look at Samui Island from the bird-eye view, other than the rapid growth in construction throughout the island, we would see what is left of nature and what has been with Samui from the beginning of time, the coconut trees. While most people would experience Samui from the ground up; the panoramic view, surrounding islands in perspective, white sandy beach, crystal clear water, and overlapping shadow below the coconut tree.
With all these perceptions of Samui as an inspiration, along with the slope contour of the site above Chaweng Noi beach, the planning of the house was designed to be overlapped and twisted in response to the terrain and the panoramic view. The natural light which shines through the canopy and voids was designed to fit the daily life's usage of the space. At the same time, light and shadow create aesthetic quality, which continuously transforms throughout the day.
With plenty of natural beauty to enjoy, there is a big challenge in terms of construction as well. The structure of the house has been carefully designed so that only a few series of columns touch the earth as light as the falling coconut leaves. This solution lets the building float above the typical steep slope of Samui, allowing the flow of water that comes with the seasonal monsoon to pass by with no problem.

Tour In PIE House By Greenbox Design In CHIANG MAI, THAILAND
Tour In PIE House By Greenbox Design In CHIANG MAI, THAILAND
Text description provided by the architects. This ‘Pie House’, with its own specialty, belongs to two ladies who want to start building a family together. Therefore, this is the beginning for the new architecture interpretation. We try to leave the housing typology behind and then figure out the relativity of the behavior, area and time until this house has a combination of crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
The connection of the house, composed of vertical and horizontal dimension, designated in a form of the house with the pitched roof falling to the south. The frontage wall has different level due to the imperfection of the area and the different privacy’s need of the area inside.
From this form of frontage, it creates new and interesting corner on the right side of the wall, as there will be a Bakery’s shop setting up in the future. This corner will also help promoting the image of this Bakery’s shop. Additionally, this overall image can reflect the behavior of the owners who are steadiness with softness hidden inside. The white tone of the house is like a canvas for the frontage trees which create light and shadow in the afternoon, representing light and time spectacle that changing each time of the day.
We use courtyard, in compact area, to connect all parts of the house, featured in vertical and horizontal dimension which connecting the working-space with the children’s space in vertical dimension. As we try to forget the house typology or myth, we program the house in other direction which specially satisfy the lifestyle of the house-owner. The main bedroom might not necessary be located on the second floor since we present it in the first floor.
Therefore, it is convenient for raising a child with the best quality of living combined by the pool’s view with high privacy. In addition, we hide some parts of serviced area in the south of the second floor like the cloth-drying part. In this area, the sun will shine through all day, which we use the benefit of the sun ray to help drying clothes faster. This is a few parts of the house composure. It is an exclusive house. It might not suit for someone who only needs place to sleep but this home is a place for a warm family to be together since the architecture is still running just like we thought.

Tour In JSL House By Bernardes Arquitetura In PARATY, BRAZIL
Tour In JSL House By Bernardes Arquitetura In PARATY, BRAZIL
Text description provided by the architects. Located in a residential condominium in Paraty, in Rio de Janeiro, a few meters away from the beach, the JSL House was designed from the idea of connection - visual, privileging the view to the sea; and living and leisure spaces.
Arriving from the street, the visitor is faced with the steel volume carefully arranged on the landscaping with tropical species. On the left side, a triangular pergola, ingeniously created from the extension of the steel beams protects the garage between the garden.
Entering the residence, a lowered area with traditional height is later surpassed by the double-height, from the structural steel mesh.
At the perimeter of the entire residence, metal extenders are attached directly to the beams, where fixed brises Soleil of the same material are installed, perpendicular to the bedrooms and gourmet area. These receive gray paint, following the same finish as the structure and frames. This solution enables thermal comfort from the shading of the social area, which, in addition to the generous opening of the window frames, contributes to abundant natural ventilation.
The living receives wooden slats on the walls that also cover the ceiling of the lowered area of the hall and dining room, bringing comfort. In the same pattern, access doors to the TV room and service areas are mimicked. At the double height of the living room, a large fixed glass next to the checkered mesh brise allows seeing the vegetation, protecting it from exposure to the sun, like a veil.
In furniture and accessories, typically beach textures are reimagined in a contemporary way. Sofa and armchairs are finished in linen, while the rug is made of sisal. At the end of the dining room, a screen made of sailor rope.
Entrance hall, living, and dining rooms become balconies when their frames are open to the gourmet area and the pool. Integrating the spaces, the same materials of the interior are used in the external floor and wall of the barbecue grill. On the roof, an awning with an electronic opening can be opened or closed.
At the center of the living room, the steel staircase connects the private areas to the ground floor. Above the hall, the home office allows a certain visual permeability directly to the beach from white metallic fins. In the bedrooms, sliding frames from floor to ceiling can be completely opened, which together with the colorless glass railing and breezes, bring the breeze and the blue of the horizon to the interior. The bedding follows a pattern of beach colors and textures, such as navy blue, ocher, and nautical striped pattern, and the headboard receives the same wood used on the ground floor.

Ennead Architects Selected to Design the International Performance Center in Shenzhen
Ennead Architects Selected to Design the International Performance Center in Shenzhen
Ennead Architects have been chosen out of a three-part open international competition to design the new International Performance Center in Shenzhen, China. Dubbed 'The People’s Performing Arts Center', the project will be a part of a major cultural development that further marks the city as a metropolitan destination and reinforces the global arts community in the city.
Nestled in the Futian District, the center will be one of three new cultural buildings: the Shenzhen Reform and Opening-up Exhibition Hall and Shenzhen Finance Culture Center, a significant cultural masterplan that will add a community driven factor to one of the world’s leading technology capitals. The winning proposal combines creativity, technology, and intricate design that weaves seamlessly into the city fabric, linking to a new subway station and a network of underground public facilities.
The project consists of two golden egg-like shells that reflect the duality of Shenzhen’s traditions and urban future. The facades create a dynamic layer that changes with the time of day and weather. The organic forms along with the circulation inside, resemble the movement of water in the nearby bay. The lower part of the building creates an open visual flow.
The Center will be enclosed by a full height glass lobby, creating an unobstructed view to the city and parks around. The two golden shells will include multilevel atriums the Dream Theater and the Star Concert Hall. The center will also include various practice rooms, rehearsal spaces, and shops, along with a variety of public amenities including a restaurant and an exhibition space.
Ennead Architects have also won the international competition to design a dynamic 32-floor commercial tower in the heart of Shenzhen’s high-tech Nanshan District. The architecture studio’s aim was to create a platform that “embraces creative exchange and the sharing of human experiences and ideas”, so they developed a design that offers a flexible working environment with a subtle use of color and materials, complimenting the spatial and functional needs of Chinese tech company ByteDance. The tower, which is expected to be completed by 2024, will employ co-working spaces, commercial, and recreational facilities in a dynamic-looking structure overlooking Shenzhen Bay.

Tour In Casa Feliz By ADND In SASAWANE, INDIA
Tour In Casa Feliz By ADND In SASAWANE, INDIA
“The strong willingness of standing on a threshold, the crossing of which would transcend you into a placate world”. A strong need for connection, change and unlearning (learning and experience of the urban world) calls for the creation of such a threshold in the built form. A meandering driveway around a dense cluster of existing trees inaugurates your connection with nature and ultimately reveals the front facade of the house.
The unforeseeable scale of a 20 feet wide main steel entrance door set in a punctuated brick facade, redefines scale and acts as a divider between the outside and the inside world. It is this physical threshold that disconnects you from the mundane of the world and at the same time embarks placidness. Passing through this portal one feels purged of their non-tangible baggage hence reinforcing the concept of a threshold.
Considering the offerings by the sheer location of the site, the coast, the weather, the dense landscape, the smell of greens, the pleasant visuals of perennial blooms became the perfect ingredients for a tropical lifestyle and a building approach that is cultural conscious and cohesive to the tropics. The villa set in the quaint little coastal town of Alibaug to the south of Mumbai promises a perfect getaway. This 10,000 sq. ft contemporary house spreads itself on a 2acre site which is blessed by nature with dense flora and a small water body on its southeast.
Paying respect to the prevailing flora on-site the master plan takes birth by surrounding the house around the major cluster of trees and a squarish manicured courtyard then becomes the epicentre of the house. This courtyard hosting palms and mounds of green is held by two ‘L’ shaped building blocks. This court provides visuals to the surrounding public spaces and the circulation corridor on its periphery.
These two blocks strike a very contrasting nature, one being solid and the other being permeable. The material palette of the house has a monolithic character, the clay bricks bring in the required warmth and the use of metal elements brings in the sharpness and contemporary look. Larger than life artefacts and tectonic petrified wood centre tables become some of the protagonists in the house.
