My new Victory VAP TKO Hunting Arrow Build! I know this is my Third arrow build in a year, but this one has a different purpose! after attending the Total Archery Challenge in San Antonio, I decided that I wanted an arrow but not only hits hard but can go the distance. So I took the Victory VAP TKO arrows and paired it with the Ethics Archery inserts, but this time the inserts are a bit lighter. The shaft of the arrow also has much lower GPI (grains per inch) so I'm coming in at about 100 grains lighter (480 total) of an arrow but still upwards of 15% FOC. Now the pins on my bow sight are a little bit tighter and I can reach out to much further distances. Can you shoot 150 yards with no peep and still be accurate? I will show you how in this video! Removing the peep out of my bow literally saved archery for me as I was suffering bad from target panic. I do repeat myself in this video a little bit, but it's because I struggle a bit to explain exactly what the difference is, and try to explain it thoroughly enough to help ease apprehension people may have about shooting peepless. Also I had to record this three times due to me accidentally erasing the footage, so sorry if I seem a bit scatter-brained. If after 100 shots you dont like it or feel confident in it, go ahead and go back to your peep! You can do it with or without the IQ Sights, but it will make the transition much easier. Finally getting into releasing this Victory VAP SS Rebuild video! I have tinkered and finally stuck with things this way. So far it is working great! The Ethics archery inserts give my arrows the Extreme FOC I need to pile drive through any animal and make that ethical kill, and the zinger fletches make sure that the arrow gets to its target just as intended. Below are the chapters, as this is a complete build, from start to finish, to the point that the arrows are ready to fly and ready for final tuning with your bow. By the way, the Glow Wraps glow very well, but the camera doesn't pick it up as well as my eye. My 2020 Texas archery whitetail hunting season got off to a rocky start. Weighed down with anxiety from having come up short two years in a row, these hunts made me nervous. From the fear of heights, Target panic, hiking in the dark alone, fear of failure, or fear of predators, there is plenty of anxiety-inducing elements to any hunt. The key is to face those fears head-on and push forward. Luckily it paid off with a Whitetail all my own! This season had started off with broken bows, hundreds of dollars in repairs, new arrows, and more. Although I have been hunting for over a decade, this was the first time I have really filmed it. And man, it is a challenge! Kudos to all of those who I have been learning from along the way because it is not easy. Josh Bowmar spear hunts a Bear, and posts the controversial video on YouTube. The non-hunting public went crazy, and this video explains why. I just wanted to quickly give my thoughts on this matter, and allow you to give your thoughts below. (If you keep up with the news). My opinion lies here in this video. Initially, I was very uninformed about this incident and didn't support the methods used until I watched the whole video. I still believe UA made the choice to pull support of Sarah based on Hunter's safety and not their method of taking the bear, but that is their choice to do so either way. People started taking sides for or against hunters, and for or against Under Armour Hunt. Here is an excerpt from a statement from Cameron Hanes, the longest-running athlete supported by Under Armour: "Here is my stance on Under Armour...I am not leaving Under Armour and it has nothing to do with money like many with no idea about me and what motivates me have said. In fact, they can keep their money if they'd like. I don't partner with anyone for money I partner with them because they believe in me and I believe in them. I often forget to invoice UA for my services because I am a bowhunter, not a businessman. My relationship with Under Armour is different. Kip Fulks who was one of the original founders of UA and basically runs the company now, is one of my best friends. He has always believed in me and has always believed in people close to me, like Roy Roth. He was hunting with me in Colorado when I found out Roy had died in October. He shed tears that day just as I did. He named his son Truett, the same as my son Truett. He's always been there for me as a great friend. Whatever happens in my life or in his life, I will always be loyal to Kip and anything he is involved in, like Under Armour. If you look down on me for that, I guess that's the way it is. As far as Under Armour and hunting, they are a Fortune 500 company and have been one of hunting's biggest proponents for many years. I don't know of any other companies that are as successful that would even mess with the hunting minefield. UA has done a lot for the industry making hunting seem "cool" to the younger generation. This has happened mostly because Kip is a passionate, hard-working hunter that also happens to be a businessman. A regular guy who's had amazing business success but still loves hard backcountry elk hunting like he experienced with me and Roy in Wyoming." VICTORY XTORSION SS REVIEW - HEAVY AND HARD TO KILL! I've put these arrows through heck and back, and have learned about what makes them so dang good. MORE INFO BELOW There are lots of great arrows out there, but these XTORSION ended up being on the top of my list due to the new Metal Weave technology of combining stainless steel and carbon, in a 90 degree weave. BY Weaving the carbon in strands at 90 degrees from each other every layer of carbon is stronger and resists the Torsional Deflection. By incorporating Stainless steel, the arrow weight and density are higher, the arrow is less malleable, (unlike aluminum) and more energy is delivered into the target, due to a reduction in torsional deflection (Bending and flexing due to force applied to either end of the arrow). Torsional deflection [Tor-shen-all Deef-lec-shun] can come from the STRING's application of force into the arrow, or the TARGET'S dramatic stopping of the arrow. Torsional Deflection can cause a loss of energy from the bow to the target, as some of the energy put into the arrow from the string can be lost in that side to side flexing of the arrow. The same is true for hitting a solid target like bone. If the arrow flexes when it hits a solid target, energy is lost into that wave of flexion as it changes the forward momentum into a side to side flexion. This is where this arrow technology is made king. I HATE BAG TARGETS! A Hurrican bag target review made from outtakes and BTS footage from my last video here: https://youtu.be/EhQJH4NXEqU I have shot about 12 different kinds of arrows into this bag target, and I find that any arrow that has an outsert system, an insert with a "lip" OR if you use a field point that is not a bullet point your likelihood of having "stuck" arrows increases exponentially.
