DRDO-upgraded Agni missiles can now hit targets at distances greater than 7,000 km.
After successfully testing its nuclear-capable Agni-5 ballistic missile, India has already traveled 7,000 kilometers. The recently tested Agni-5 missile can reach targets more than 7,000 kilometers away. According to sources in the defense establishment, the steel in the missile manufactured by India's Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) was also replaced with composite materials to cut weight. The weight may be decreased by more than 20%, which would allow the government to quickly extend the missile's range to 7,000 kilometers. The missile's three-stage solid-fuel engine allows for extremely precise strikes on targets at distances of up to 5,000 kilometers.

Extoling the ties between UAE and India at the India Global Forum and panel discussion on India-UAE in Abu Dhabi, Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on December 12 said that the UAE has a particular salience in India’s perspectives.
“The UAE is today India's 3rd largest trade partner. It is our 2nd largest export market. More Indian citizens live in UAE than in any other country abroad. So whether we are talking people, or whether we are talking business, UAE has a particular salience in our perspectives,” the EAM said.
“The fact that we were able to conclude the Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement so quickly and has led to such effective results thereafter, speaks really volumes for the relationship. We're now moving into new areas,” he added.
