It is popular to say and embrace the motto "Love God - Love Others" - but is it really Biblical or just a pop culture myth promoted by the Laodicean Church of today?

We have much to be Thankful for.

Luke 2:1-19 - It is time for us to remember the hope that Chrismas truly brings to the lost sinner.

Some teach Christians will not habitually sin - others teach sinlessness - today we understand what John actually meant by telling us "not to sin".

As we look at a very difficult passage to interpret, we consider the principles needed to correctly understand this passage. We will point out the problems with the “habitual” sin view of this passage embraced by many popular teachers.

John provides us some thoughts we can compare our lives to - to examine ourselves and see that we are in the faith.

Today we want to excuse God for anything that looks like it would give God bad PR - God never moves away from proving that He controls everything - but at the same time that does not make Him responsible for evil.

John demonstrates in his writing how there was an authority structure in the church he was pastoring. The church in America today often lacks the authority structure that God has designed and when it does function the people often reject it.

We are overly concerned with “The Antichrist” and miss that we are being deceived by many “antichrists” that threaten to cause us to lose our rewards.

It is possible to be born again - and not "enter" the Kingdom of God. They are two different things. Many who are "Christians" love the world and they will pay a dear price of missing the kingdom of God.

I John 2:3-6 - Many people think Christianity is merely about believing in Jesus for salvation - that is only part of Christianity. We are commanded to obey the gospel - and not obeying will have some drastic consequences in terms of our inheritance one day.

The love for the brethren - not everybody - is an authentic test of whether you are in the faith.

I John 2:12-15 Salvation is by faith in Jesus Christ - growth is optional but with a price if we chose not to grow.
