This is Hapi the Pitbull mix. This is the first time he has ever seen himself in a "selfie" before. It is very exciting for him to see the handsome pitbull looking back at him! A little backstory on this guy... He has been with us for about 3 weeks now. We try not to focus on a dog's "before" too much, but poor Hapi's story should be told. From what we have gathered from animal services, Hapi was being used as a stud(breeding) and the female whom he was supposed to woo just wasn't having it. She turned on Hapi and tore him up. If you look at Hapi, he epitomizes the muscle-bound, big-headed, intimidating stereotype of a bully breed. But while he is muscular and he does have a big head, Hapi is the most gentle dog I've ever been around. With that in mind, it is not surprising that this boy did not defend himself against the female's aggression. Long story short, Hapi was in intensive care while his wounds healed, he needed a LOT of medical attention. As if his trials and tribulations up to this point in the story weren't enough, Hapi is also heartworm positive. But, as is my way, I look for the silver lining. His need for long-termhealing just means that I get to hang out with him for the next 6 months! When I tell you that Hapi is a goofball, I feel like I am making an enormous understatement! All he wants to do is play with his kong, which he takes everywhere with him(even to do his "outside business") and lay on my feet. I'm already in love with him, as if you can blame me, and it's going to be a great six months as he gets better because of that. Our boy is still very rough around the edges, as in he needs a lot of basic training, but he has a kind and gentle way about him that will make doing that obedience training with him an absolute joy.

These pups are part of the "How to train your dragon" foster litter. Cece is a seasoned pro at being an awesome big foster sister, she has helped foster almost 200 dogs!

Foster puppy branch isn't intimidated at all! Cece helped raise him, so why would he be?

It just doesn't get much cuter than this. Puppies, just like human children, go through a teething phase. This is a common occurrence for little pups

Bath time doesn't have to be awful! These pups are unsure about what exactly their foster dad is saying/doing!

Our cat, Figsy, would join us for walks to and from Pre-K almost every day!

Look at those tails go! These little puppers aren't sure what to think of this new, 3-legged, beast in their x-pen!

This little one is just a few days old, but, as you can see, she is already a fan of belly rubs!

Fergus, our foster dog with demodectic mange, and Cece hit it off immediately. They loved playing with each other, and Fergus has since found his forever home!

We were enjoying a beautiful day at the park when a little piglet appeared!

Hay provides an aesthetically pleasing alternative to grass, especially for people with dogs, and it seems it also provides quite a lot of fun too!

Cece, the bully mix, is really putting in work on her bone!

Attacked by one of his housemates, Hapi is going to be a long term foster. He is heartworm positive but he is getting treatment and will be fine.

Hapi is a rescue dog that was attacked by one of his housemates, since coming to his foster family, he has blossomed into a great dog.

It took a total of almost two hours, but worth it in the end.
