7 FollowersThe Officer Down Memorial is an audio podcast produced in a story telling format that shares the real stories of amazing men and women who’ve lost their lives in the line of duty. These stories are shared with the help of agency reports and audio data, along with comments from the officers who were there and the families who were left behind. Older stories are put together with data gathered from various history archives, newspapers, historical agency data, etc. In each episode, we set the stage by sharing historical notes from that era, taking you back in time, and placing you there at the incident. Our mission is to tell the real stories of these amazing men and women to ensure their service and sacrifice is never forgotten. The Officer Down Memorial Podcast also works with agencies who have upcoming parole hearings for their fallen officer’s killer – to help educate that fallen officer’s community with their story, and encouraging citizens to send letters that state’s Department of Corrections in support of the fallen officer’s family and agency to encourage the state to keep their cop killer in prison. This project was started in November of 2020 by Sheriff Scott Rose from Minnesota. Sheriff Rose, who had a career in broadcasting before law enforcement, does the research, interviews, audio production, and hosts the program.
