Dobson appears on the song "Horrors" from Marty Friedman's 11th studio album "Inferno," playing all the parts written by Jason Becker and Marty Friedman on acoustic guitar. "Horrors" was the first song to be written together by Jason and Marty since their days in the band Cacophony. Ewan also plays the acoustic guitar parts on the song "The Blackest Rose" on Friedman's 12th studio album "Wall of Sound." The video that put him in the Youtube limelight was “Time 2” released through Candyrat records, amassing over 34 million hits to date. In total, he has over 85 million youtube views. In 2011, “Time 2” was #1 on the iTunes charts in Finland, Sweden and Germany, and in the top 5 of the iTunes charts in Austria, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand and Denmark (no small feat for an instrumentalist). The styles he has represented are video game inspired fingerstyle guitar, acoustic metal, and renditions of the legendary Italian violinist Niccolo Paganini on steel string guitar. Dobson has toured Europe, Canada, USA and China multiple times. These days he resides next to the woods creating music as well as feeding a variety of wild birds by hand. Recently, Ewan published a video documenting what may be a record for most species of bird to land on a human hand, 29 species in total. Ewan's current setlist is a selection of works by composers Domenico Scarlatti and Niccolo Paganini on classical guitar, folk/classical/acoustic metal flat-picked original compositions for 6 and 7 string guitar (steel string), and original fingerstyle compositions for nylon string guitar.
