We rely on our networks of local reporters to provide what many cannot get locally: uncensored news, responsible discussion, and open debate. RFE/RL also reaches Russian-speaking audiences around the world via the Current Time digital television network, which has 62 affiliates in 15 countries; 201 distributors in 22 countries; and is available online worldwide. With over 600 full-time journalists, 750 freelancers, and 18 local bureaus, RFE/RL is one of the most comprehensive news operations in the world.​ RFE/RL is registered with the IRS as a private, nonprofit Sec. 501(c)3 corporation, and is funded by a grant from the U.S. Congress through the United States Agency for Global Media (USAGM) as a private grantee. RFE/RL's editorial independence is protected by U.S. law.
