The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is a United States government agency responsible for the nation's civilian space program and for aeronautics and aerospace research. Established on July 29, 1958, NASA conducts groundbreaking scientific research, space exploration, and technological advancements with the goal of pushing the boundaries of human knowledge and expanding our understanding of the universe. NASA's mission encompasses several key areas: Space Exploration: NASA is known for its human and robotic exploration of space. This includes sending astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS), planning future crewed missions to the Moon and Mars, and studying distant celestial bodies through robotic missions. Scientific Research: The agency conducts a wide range of scientific research, from studying Earth's climate and environment to exploring the planets, moons, asteroids, and comets within our solar system. NASA's space telescopes, such as the Hubble Space Telescope, have revolutionized our understanding of the cosmos. Aeronautics: NASA conducts research to advance aviation technologies and make air travel safer, more efficient, and environmentally friendly. This involves developing new aircraft designs, air traffic management systems, and innovative propulsion technologies. Technology Development: NASA is at the forefront of developing cutting-edge technologies, many of which have applications beyond space exploration. These technologies include advancements in materials science, robotics, propulsion systems, and more. International Collaboration: NASA collaborates with space agencies and organizations around the world to share knowledge, resources, and expertise. The ISS, for example, is a multinational project involving cooperation between NASA, Roscosmos, ESA, JAXA, and CSA

Former NASA engineer. Current CrunchLabs founder and friend of science. Answers to some common questions: 1) I make a monthly toy we build together on a video, that gets delivered to your house that teaches you to think like an engineer. Check it out at- https://crunchlabs.com 2) I studied Mechanical Engineering in School. I did my undergrad at BYU and Masters at USC. 3) I worked for NASA JPL for 9 years, 7 of which were working on the Curiosity Rover (I made a video about it you should def totes watch cause it's probably my favorite of all my videos). Then I made some Halloween costumes. Then I worked for Apple in their Special Projects Group doing Product Design as a Mechanical Engineer for 5 years. Then in 2022 I created CrunchLabs to deliver monthly toys that teach you to think like an engineer.

NASA's mission is to pioneer the future in space exploration, scientific discovery and aeronautics research. To do that, thousands of people have been working around the world and in space for more than 50 years, trying to answer some basic questions. What's out there in space? How do we get there? What will we find? What can we learn there -- or learn just by trying to get there -- that will make life better here on Earth? NASA's work is diverse: proving flight technologies; creating capabilities for sustainable human and robotic exploration; exploring Earth, the solar system and the universe beyond; developing critical enabling technologies such as the space shuttle; and conducting science in orbit aboard the International Space Station. With NASA you can explore the universe and discover Earth.
