Michael Peroutka for Attorney General

I am seeking the Republican nomination for the office of Attorney General of Maryland. My reasons for doing so are more fully set out on my campaign website at www.Patriots4Peroutka.com but, briefly stated, I believe that unless the violations of Marylander’s rights to freely assemble, worship, speak, publish, conduct business, and make their own medical decisions, etc., are redressed and the lawbreakers brought to justice, we will not enjoy, nor will we be able to pass on the “Blessings of liberty” to our children.

Seasons of Renewal

"Seasons of Renewal" Monthly Study God is a God of design, and this includes cycles and seasons. He established weekly, monthly and annual cycles, as well as 7 calendar feast (all pointing to Jesus). All these appointed times are to help us grow and draw our hearts to Him and His ways so we can discover His true nature and great love for us. God established a calendar…. The Hebrew calendar. It is relevant just as much today as it was in Old Testament time. He has not changed it. Man has. Scripture speaks to this. Daniel 7:25 says “He (Satan) will speak out against the most high and wear down the Saints of the Highest One, and he will intend to make alterations in times and in law.” Over time, we have set our authority on the Gregorian calendar and we live and operate in that world. However scripture tells us we are called not to be of it. He set appointed times on his calendar to help us stay in fellowship with Him and not drift. I would say culturally we have drifted quite far. This was also by design, by the enemy! God's appointed times and His calendar and cycles provide blessings in our life as we connect and stay in alignment with Him. The enemy would love nothing more than to keep us from doing that. This year-long series is intended to help us get back into alignment with God’s appointed times and discover the blessings behind His design. We will meet at the start of each Hebrew month (so live meeting dates will vary). We will have a bonus meeting in the months when the feasts are held, enriching the journey even further.

General Bounce

Yorkshire based DJ/producer General Bounce (real name Dave Gray) has become a prominent figure in UK clubland in recent years. Obsessed with dance music from an early age, Dave has been an active club DJ all his adult life, playing everything from funky house and UK garage to trance and bouncy house, before finally settling into the hard dance scene. Regardless of genre, his style reflects his persona and the sound he is passionate about - cheeky, happy, uplifting and pumping music made to rock a dancefloor. After a decade of working in the bars and clubs of Yorkshire, Dave finally broke through the wider club scene after joining the Cheeky Tracks label in 2010 as a DJ and producer. Since then he's performed at the biggest hard dance events in the UK such as the Tidy Weekender, Xstatic Summer Festival, BTID, Rejuvenation, Storm, Rave On and Wigan Pier, and his productions have been heavily supported by BK, Kutski, Andy Whitby, Rob Tissera, Anne Savage and more. He has also become an established DJ on Manchester's gay scene, and held a weekly afterhours residency there from 2014 til 2020. In 2015 Dave took full ownership of Cheeky Tracks and has established it as one of the UK's leading hard dance labels. He continues to spend most weekends DJing for various events nationwide, and in 2021 he played abroad for the first time at Unity In The Sun in Corfu. He also hosts a monthly podcast showcasing his label's releases as well his versatility as a DJ.

We’ve discovered neurons in CLIP that respond to the same concept whether presented literally, symbolically, or conceptually. This may explain CLIP’s accuracy in classifying surprising visual renditions of concepts, and is also an important step toward understanding the associations and biases that CLIP and similar models learn. Fifteen years ago, Quiroga et al.1 discovered that the human brain possesses multimodal neurons. These neurons respond to clusters of abstract concepts centered around a common high-level theme, rather than any specific visual feature. The most famous of these was the “Halle Berry” neuron, a neuron featured in both Scientific American(opens in a new window) and The New York Times(opens in a new window), that responds to photographs, sketches, and the text “Halle Berry” (but not other names). Two months ago, OpenAI announced CLIP, a general-purpose vision system that matches the performance of a ResNet-50,2 but outperforms existing vision systems on some of the most challenging datasets. Each of these challenge datasets, ObjectNet, ImageNet Rendition, and ImageNet Sketch, stress tests the model’s robustness to not recognizing not just simple distortions or changes in lighting or pose, but also to complete abstraction and reconstruction—sketches, cartoons, and even statues of the objects. Now, we’re releasing our discovery of the presence of multimodal neurons in CLIP. One such neuron, for example, is a “Spider-Man” neuron (bearing a remarkable resemblance to the “Halle Berry” neuron) that responds to an image of a spider, an image of the text “spider,” and the comic book character “Spider-Man” either in costume or illustrated. Our discovery of multimodal neurons in CLIP gives us a clue as to what may be a common mechanism of both synthetic and natural vision systems—abstraction. We discover that the highest layers of CLIP organize images as a loose semantic collection of ideas, providing a simple explanation for both the model’s versatility and the representation’s compactness.
