Thomas & Friends: originally known as Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends or simply Thomas the Tank Engine; later called Thomas & Friends: Big World! Big Adventures! is a British children's television series. Based on The Railway Series of books by Reverend Wilbert Awdry and his son Christopher, English writer and producer Britt All-croft arranged a deal to bring the stories to life as the TV series. In the United Kingdom, it had its first broadcast on the ITV network in 1984. In the United States, it had its first broadcast on Shining Time Station in 1989. ​ These books follow the adventures of a group of anthropomorphize locomotives and road vehicles who live on the fictional Island of Sodor. The titular protagonist Thomas is the most popular and famous character in the series. The books were based on stories Wilbert told to entertain his son, Christopher, during his recovery from measles. Many of the stories from the first four series are based on events from Awdry's personal experience.

For nearly 50 years I\'ve had two culinary careers -- one that paid the bills and the other imagined. Growing up in Fresno and Bakersfield in the 1960s, I attended Camp San Joaquin in Sequoia National Forest. To me the cook and his assistant had the best job. Where else could I pursuit my passion for cooking and my love of the mountains at the same time, I reasoned? Lord willing, I\'ll continue to pursue my love for camp cooking. Do you like Irish whisky? I do. I'm on a mission to collect and sample as many different types of Irish whisky that I can find. (Without getting in trouble with my wife!) For me, a perfect evening is three fingers of Irish whisky in a glass with an ice ball paired with a fine cigar. I'm going to post videos comparing different Irish whiskies, blind taste tests, reviewing new additions to the collection, and overall, sharing my love of Irish whisky. What you won't get here are the fine "subtleties" of tasting notes. No honey, vanilla, bread, etc... That's not me, and honestly, my palate isn't that good. I simply know what I like and I'm here to share that with you.
