IBM Selectric Maintenance & Repair Training Series

Introduction: The following program is a training series on the IBM Selectric Typewriter. It was produced by Audio Visuals Universal in the 1970s, and is no longer available. Originally, the series was sold as sets of audio cassettes and 35mm color slides. After decaying for decades, the entire series was digitized for download online in 2008. Credit is due to the following persons: Peter Brun - Initially purchased the series on ebay and was kind enough to make copies for digitization. Additionally, he digitized the slides and augmented their information. Bill Hicks - Digitized the audio cassettes and posted the series online for download. Jim Bigwood, Audio Supervisor @ Maryland Public Television - Generously offered the use of his facilities to digitize the audio cassettes. My name is Rachel and I am a Au Pair host mom. Au Pairs are international men and women, between 16-26 years old. They come to the US on a federal J-1 work/study visa as a 1-2 year cultural exchange program. They work they provide while in the US is childcare for a family who provides them room, board, and a weekly stipend in exchange. We have had five amazing experiences to date hosting Au Pairs. These videos are made in collaboration with my former Au Pair, Paula. We identified the need for host family perspective content. This channel is meant to share helpful information and insightful tips for those considering becoming a host family or an Au Pair.
