Distributism is not about government forced redistribution. Distributism is based on the idea that both economics and politics are subject to ethics because both exist to serve the common good of society. Because economic activity is how we provide for our personal and family needs, there is a moral aspect to all economic activity. Distributism emphasizes both strong local economics and decentralization of government authority.
