**Azadari is the collective mourning rituals and commemorative practices observed by Shia Muslims (and many Sunni Muslims too) especially during the Islamic month of **Muharram**, in memory of the martyrdom of **Imam Hussain (AS)**, the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and his companions in the Battle of Karbala in 680 AD.
