Highlighting some of my amatuer cooking. I have worked with real chefs & I am most certainly not one. However, for the average Joe's (& Jill's) out there this may be for you. I will highlight some of my cooking for ASMR, but most will be basic skills and tips for the method I am using. I will feature my smoker, charcoal grill, portable camping flat top which I LOVE, my cast iron skillets and our brand new Green pans that just require a smidge of Avocado Oil. I have found that cooking my own food allows me to control what I'm actually ingesting. I have some heart issues stemming from a Fire Ant attack when I first moved her & have genetically high Cholesterol. I've had to learn how to change the way I eat, as everything I had as a kid had plenty of butter & salt in it. The salt now, including red meet will increase your chances of Edema. We have also realized that it is way better to create your own seasonings. For one it helps use up your seasonings will they are still fairly fresh, saves money & tastes way better. My wife's taco seasoning is the best EVER! I like to make rubs for my smoker and use them on briskets, pork butts, ribs, fish, chicken, shrimp, sausage, etc. We even started grinding our own ground beef, gourmet burgers, and ground sausage. My favorite burgers were a blend of Brisket (trimmings from one I smoked that I threw in the freezer), Chuck Pot Roast, Bacon & the headliner Tri-Tip from Omaha Steaks. I can't describe how good these were. The great thing about grinding your own meat is that it tastes so much fresher. Again you also know exactly what you are getting. When you purchase ground beef from the stores it it scraps from everything they are doing and you really don't know what's in it. It could have some fairly fresh meat mixed with old meat that need to be used up. I for one think it is vital to control what you are putting in your body for your longevity. I personally am not a fan of prescription drugs, as the side effects are usually worse than what they are treating. I have found lots of things that can improve your health rather than taking these Dangerous drugs, which to continue the theme you really don't know what's in them. I like to use Garlic every chance that I get. It helps with my blood pressure and keeps the bugs away. Another greath thing for that is Coconut H20 & they are so plentiful here that literally people give them away. It was fun watching Morgan crack her first nut..I mean Coconut. I just may post that video sometime from the archives. If you've ever been to Florida, especially South Florida that is vital around here as we do obviously have lots of Mosquitos. However, the dreaded bug here is the No-see-ums, or as I call them Devil Gnats! Just like Vampires they hate Garlic!! These things are like the sand fleas in Silver lake, Michigan but fly. If you are allergic like my daughter and I are, then it is about 2 days later when they start to drive you mad. Make sure not to scratch, I repeat make sure NOT to SCRATCH!! This only release the histamine and makes the situation much worse. Rub it if you have to, but for the love of God just don't scratch.At any rate I hope you like this channel and find it helpful in some way.
