Candles cartel was created in memory of my cousin Caleb, who unfortunately lost his battle with mental health during an interaction with the police in May of 2020. After his passing, we discovered that aromatherapy can be used to aid in the grieving as aromatic oils can be used to improve mental health. Our mission is to promote relaxation and relieve anxiety & stress through our scented candles. When you inhale our candles, it stimulates the part of your brain that is connected to your memory and mood. Meaning scents can trigger positive emotions and memories better than visuals such as pictures. Positive memories put us in good moods, and being in a good mood helps to reduce stress, anxiety and even symptoms of depression For those interested in what in Caleb story, you can read more below.. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/london/ontario-special-invesigations-unit-report-no-charges-death-caleb-njoko-walnut-street-balcony-london-ontario-1.5728087 Ubuntu, I am because we are ✊!

Welcome to The Cortex Club. Our brains are the most complex and powerful organs in our bodies, controlling every aspect of our thoughts, emotions, and actions. Like our bodies, our brains require regular exercise and stimulation to stay healthy and function optimally. People go to the gym consistently to exercise but how often do we put in focused effort to work out our brains? Here are some reasons why we need to exercise our brains like we do our bodies: 1. Improved cognitive function: Regular mental exercise can improve cognitive functions such as memory, attention, reasoning, and problem-solving. This can help us perform better in our daily lives and maintain mental sharpness as we age. 2. Increased neuroplasticity: Neuroplasticity refers to the brain's ability to change and adapt in response to new experiences and stimuli. Regular mental exercise can increase neuroplasticity, allowing us to learn new skills and knowledge more easily and recover from brain injuries more quickly. 3. Reduced risk of cognitive decline: Studies have shown that people who engage in regular mental exercise have a reduced risk of cognitive decline and dementia in later life. 4. Better mental health: Exercise is known to boost mood and reduce stress, and the same is true for mental exercise. Regular mental stimulation can help alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression and improve overall mental well-being. 5. Improved creativity: Engaging in activities that challenge the brain can enhance creativity and foster innovative thinking. In conclusion, just as we exercise our bodies to maintain physical health, we need to exercise our brains to maintain mental health and cognitive function. Regular mental stimulation through activities such as reading, learning a new language, solving puzzles, or playing an instrument can help keep our brains healthy, agile, and performing at their best.
