Why does Heaven want us to retreat? Upon hearing the word “retreat”, we feel so disheartened, miserable, and dim; It seems like one only retreats when he feels unfulfilled, as people in ancient times would hide or withdraw if they faced disappointments. However, we should not think this way. Retreating is not a sign of unfulfillment, and “handle in a concealed manner” doesn't mean hiding the Tao. People think that deciding to retreat is due to can't go on; in fact, there are still many people who have not truly retreat. Perhaps on the surface, in form, and in the realm of appearances, it appears to be controlled by “people.” It sounds good to say we respect teachers and honor Tao, follow the Heavenly Decree and Golden Thread, but in reality, we are just following people. Who is truly following the Heavenly Decree and Golden Thread? Who is really listening to God's words or the words of Shi Zun and Shi Mu? Didn't Shi Zun say, 'Even true priests should retreat'? Yet, who is thinking of retreating now? Had we not retreated, doesn't that mean Shi Zun was joking?"
