United States v. McGonigal

The limited and superficial coverage of the McGonigal story reveals much about the biases of media on both the Left and the Right. He should be a much bigger name. A much bigger "get". While serving as Special Agent in Charge of Counterintelligence in the FBI's NY Office, he shielded foreign agents and swamp creatures like Gal Luft, Patrick Ho, Ye Jianming, and Oleg Deripaska. He sabotaged the FBI's investigation of CEFC. He took hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash and actively protected the targets of criminal investigations from the very agents under his command. Yet, hardly anyone knows who he is, what he did, or that he is now in prison for it. Why? Because this story doesn’t align with the political narratives that media on either side want their audiences to embrace.
