Itchy Sea Turtle Enjoys a Shell Scratch on the Coral
WildCreaturesMexico is home to sea turtles of various kinds. Green sea turtles here feast on sea grass during the morning and then swim out to deeper waters to find a place for a snooze. They hold their breath for up to half an hour at a time as they rest at depths of approximately 10-15m (30-45 feet). This turtle seems to have an itchy shell. It rubs its carapace on the rough coral as it settles down for a rest. It's tempting to reach out and give these turtles a shell scratch to help them feel more comfortable, but responsible scuba divers will avoid touching the animals at all costs. No matter how much the turtle might appreciate the help, it must be left alone. Green turtles are beautiful and graceful creatures that are a joy to witness as they swim in the ocean. Scuba divers are always thrilled with an interaction like this one.4.68K views 6 comments -
Incredible close up footage of spotted eagle ray eating
WildCreaturesSpotted eagle rays are beautiful stingrays with very distinctive heads and ornate markings. For any scuba diver or snorkeler, hey are a treat to see in the ocean. Usually shy and reclusive, watching one eating is a rare sight. This eagle ray seemed to be unconcerned as the scuba diver approached respectfully and watched it in action. Eagle rays use their electro sensory organs in their snout to detect crustaceans and mollusks buried beneath the sand. They inhale the animals and the sand and then expel the sand out through their gills. They are capable of crushing thick shells in their mouth in order to get at the creature within. Eagle rays are highly intelligent, and occasionally curious about humans who approach slowly.3.54K views 8 comments -

The Redstart: Close Up HD Footage (Phoenicurus phoenicurus)
BinocularBaseThe Common Redstart is a lovely little bird that visits Britain in summer. About the size of a robin, the male is quite eye-catching with his bright orange breast and tail, grey back, and black face with a white forehead. Females are more plain, mostly brown with a pale orange tail. These birds love old woodlands and gardens where they can find plenty of insects to eat. They're quite clever at catching their food - they'll sit on a branch, spot an insect, then swoop down to grab it. During winter, they head off to Africa where it's warmer. Sadly, there aren't as many Redstarts as there used to be in Britain, partly because we've lost lots of old woodland areas where they like to nest. They're quite special birds because they often return to the exact same nesting spot year after year, usually in holes in old trees or walls.
