Nursery rhymes

Nursery rhymes are short sung verses. Many come down from very ancient sources and many were originally composed for adult entertainment. A great number of traditional Nursery rhymes and stories came from the Sufis, for example. Nursery rhyme publication, on the other hand, coincided with the rise of literacy, and the appearance of a 'middle class', with the money to buy books for the young. Significant publication began in the 1700s and blossomed in the 1800s. Thus many are apt to confuse the time they were made popular, with the dates they were invented - and their purpose. Many nursery rhymes have variants in other languages, with similar rhymes appearing in different nations. Folklorists have also identified, relics of ancient charms, Latin liturgy, and "the secret passwords of the Freemasons". So we might better say, that these easily remembered rhymed sung verses actually belong to an ancient occult folklore tradition shared by adults and children. But the actual nature of the rhymes is under threat by those ignoring the historical nature of the rhymes and those unaware of the links some of them have with mystic symbolism. An even stranger threat comes from those aiming to 'protect' children from the violence they think is evident in them. Gemini is a Sign of the Zodiac. Its name comes from the Latin word geminus 'twofold; twin' and wherever we go in the world, it means the same. As such this archetype must be immensely important. The magpie was originally called maggie pie or mag pie and the term mag is a root word, from which derives "magician, learned magician". There is some conjecture that the nursery rhyme “Four and twenty black birds baked in a pie” actually refers to the mag pie. The ‘pie’ in this context is a collection of 24 divisions based on Constellations and thus a measure of time. As measures of time, the rising and setting of 'decans' marked 'hours', but the hours were not of fixed length. It was Hipparchus [the Greek astronomer, geographer, and mathematician] who gave us the “Equinoctial hours” by proposing the division of a day into 24 equal hours. But Hipparchus could not have achieved what he did without the aid of Babylonian astronomy, of which he displays a knowledge far deeper than any Greek before or after him. The rich blue colour of a magpie's feathers, indicates very advanced spirituality – blue is the colour of spirit. So when the term ‘ruler’ is used to describe these Constellations, it was meant literally, these men were ‘god’ like rulers in their wisdom and knowledge. A unicorn is a mythical animal typically represented as a horse with a single straight but spiralling horn projecting from its forehead. There was a time — not so long ago—when the figurative existence of the unicorn was implicitly believed in. Indeed the translators of the Bible set their seal upon the legend by translating the Hebrew word re’em as 'unicorn.'
