Part I - Children Of Spring (Classical)
Mark DK BerryTaken from the four track album "Eurydice" available to download visit - https://markdkberry.com "In Part I, Orpheus meets the young Eurydice and falls in love. This part describes their youthfulness, as well as their journey towards maturity and the growing intensity of love." For the artwork I went with the spring theme rather than two young lovers. It was interesting to discover just how often "nymphs & satyrs" featured in 19th Century art. I am now inspired to do a more thorough set just on that theme. I was also fascinated to find some of the artwork to be more inspiring than modern day glamour photography that tries to capture the same mood but misses the mark. Artwork has been digitized using 3D software and is listed below in order of appearance: Ignac Ujvary - The Rite of Spring Henryk Siemiradzki - Flowers & Plants Henryk Siemiradzki - Scena przy studni (Scene by a well) Henryk Siemiradzki - Phryne on the Poseidon's celebration in Eleusis Henryk Siemiradzki - A Dangerous Game Jean Honore Fragonard - The Swing Botticelli - Primavera Giovanni Battista Tiepolo - The Empire of Flora John William Waterhouse - A Song of Springtime Lawrence Alma-Tadema - Spring Louis De Silvestre - Feast of Nymphs & Satyrs William-Adolphe Bouguereau - Return Of Spring Rupert Bunny - Pastoral Albert Joseph Moore - A Summer Night William-Adolphe Bouguereau - The Nymphaeum William-Adolphe Bouguereau - Nymphs and Satyr Sydney Long - Faun & Nymph George Frederic Watts - Nymphs and Satyrs Henryk Siemiradzki - Bacchanalia Joseph Tomanek - Nymphs Dancing to Pan's Flute Pedro Pablo Rubens - Diana and her Nymphs surprised by Satyrs Rupert Bunny - Spring Noe Bordignon - Primavera54 views -
Part II - The Hunt - Dark Clouds on Distant Mountains (Classical)
Mark DK BerryTaken from the album "Eurydice" available from - https://markdkberry.com "In Part II Eurydice is wandering in the forest with nymphs. You can hear warnings in the distant weather. Aristaeus sees her, is captivated by her beauty and so begins a chase. I felt it would be quite flirtatious too, not wholly unwanted, and that mood is echoed in the arrangement. The bass drop heralds the arrival of trouble, and sure enough at the very end you hear the snake bite her and she dies immediately, falling towards the Underworld." Artwork has been digitized using 3D software and is listed below in order of first appearance: Albert Bierstadt - Puget Sound on Pacific coast Albert Bierstadt - A Storm in the Rocky_Mountains Albert Bierstadt - Looking down yosemite valley california Frederic Edwin Church - El Rio De Luz Thomas Moran - The Golden Hour Niccolò dell'Abate - Orpheus_and_Eurydice Jean-Baptiste Camille Corot - Orpheus Lamenting Eurydice Jean-Baptiste Camille Corot - Orpheus Leading Eurydice from the Underworld Isaac Levitan - Autumn landscape with hunter Jean-francois Millet - Hunting birds at night Nicolas Poussin - Landscape with Orpheus and Eurydice Paolo Uccello - The hunt in the forest Antonio Canova - Eurydice (statue) Francois Boucher - Diana after the hunt Gaetano Gandolfi - Orpheus and Eurydice George Frederick Watts - Orpheus and Eurydice Gustave Moreau - Orpheus at the tomb of Eurydice Jean Raoux – Orpheus and Eurydice Kratzenstein - Orpheus Luc Olivier Merson - La Verite Luc Olivier Merson - Springtime awakening Luc Olivier Merson - An ethereal beauty with Putti in the clouds Luc Olivier Merson - Diane Luc Olivier Merson - Eurydice Jean Baptiste Camille Corot - Wounded Eurydice65 views -
Part III - Transformation - Falling Between the Worlds (Classical)
Mark DK BerryTaken from the album "Eurydice" available via - https://markdkberry.com "In Part III - Eurydice has now died from a snake bite and fallen into the Underworld. She swirls without form, maybe death takes its time and our memories slowly come undone, as every individual part of us returns to the source. You may hear the call of Orpheus looking for her." Artwork has been digitized using 3D software and is listed below in order of first appearance: John Everett Millais - Ophelia Friedrich Heyser - Ophelia Jingna Zhang - The Death of Eurydice Ary Scheffer - Orpheus Mourning the Death of Eurydice Eduard Kasparides - Orphée et Eurydice Catherine Adelaide Sparkes - Orpheus and Eurydice Emily Balivet - Orpheus and Eurydice Michael Putz-Richard - Orpheus and Eurydice Alexandre Jacques Chantron - Danae Arno Breker (Sculpture) - Orpheus & Eurydice Auguste Rodin (Sculpture) - Orpheus and Eurydice Jean II Restout - Orpheus in Hades Asking for Eurydice Francisco Bayeu y Subias - Olympus: The Fall of the Giants Antonio Verrio - The Gods Assemble On Mount Olympus Margot A. Part IV - Return - The Boatman (Classical)
Mark DK BerryTaken from the album "Eurydice" available from - https://markdkberry.com "In Part IV, the vocal gave it a feel that merged the story of Charon the Ferryman, whom one paid to cross the river Styx in and out of Hades, with the idea of Eurydice's eventual return to life in a new form. This strays from the original story of Orpheus in which she disappears forever into the Underworld." Artwork has been digitized using 3D software and is listed below in order of appearance: Gustave_Doré - Dante Alighieri - The Divine Comedy Lytovchenko_Olexandr_Kharon - Charon carries souls across the Styx Eugene Delacroix - The Barque of Dante Édouard Debat-Ponsan - Love Dies in Time Jean Jacques Baptiste Brunet - Caron Pierre Subleyras- The Barque of Charon Xenia Malikova - River Styx English National Opera - Orpheus Eurydice Rose Sofia Minson - When The Soul Lies Down In The Grass Russ Mills - Eurydice Dola Sun - Ferryman Patricia Ariel - Eurydice Dola Sun - Woman and boat Linda Sutton - Orpheus and Eurydice James Neilson - Eurydice In the Underworld Tamara Agha-Jaffar - Orpheus and Eurydice, Part 3 Unknown Portrait - Eurydice Marta-Syrko - (Taken from) 8 Different types of rebirth43 views -
