Abandoned Horse Stable Property
ReallyBigSchuA visit to the former location of a horse stable and riding facility outside of Charlotte, North Carolina. In operation for years, but has succumbed to fast residential growth in the area, this was a place where people could ride horses and practice jumping. I take a brief visit to walk through the property where the house was located, and to get some drone footage of the entire property which still includes the fences.25 views 1 comment -
Abandoned Church Bell
ReallyBigSchuAn old abandoned bell recently discovered during some recent development outside of Charlotte, North Carolina. I've heard that this site was once a school, a church, or a Boys home, but no one seems to be sure.8 views -
Abandoned Farm, Charlotte North Carolina
ReallyBigSchuAbandoned farm outside of Charlotte, North Carolina. This farm was in operation from the late 1800s through the 1950s. Most of the 250 acres has been sold off and redeveloped, but a few acres remain... at least for now.4 views -
House Ruins, Only Chimneys Remain
ReallyBigSchuThis site was going to be the home of a small shopping center until someone found out that the property is a landmark, so development stopped. The house on this site burned down around 2007, and only the chimneys remain. I am not sure of the history of this site, but I will post an update when I get more information. Update: This land is now part of a housing development, and these chimneys are gone18 views -
Woodmen of the World Grave Markers
ReallyBigSchuWhile visiting several cemeteries over the past couple of years, I've been noticing various gravestones with a "Woodmen of the World" logo carved into them. I found this interesting and decided to do some research. This video provides a brief history of Woodmen of the World. I also visit some of these gravestones and monuments throughout the Charlotte areas, including one that is just amazing.
