Originally published on YouTube on November 7, 2018 #camping #outdoors #Pennsylvania The stars aligned on my trip up north. I got to meet four YouTubers in the span of 3 days. I couldn't have been more lucky! Two awesome creators, Dragon Roams (Don) and SkinnyGPanda (Gerri) met with me at a drive up campground up in the beautiful mountains of Pennsylvania. The hour was getting late so a hike in spot was not a great option. We hung out by the fire for a bit before Panda had to go then Dragon and I burnt wood into the wee hours of the late night/early morning. A chilly 35 degrees kept us gathering wood all night. I did very little editing on this one because I wanted to capture the experience as real as possible. I chose not do any fancy editing or music, just us in the dark on the mountain. I had an absolute blast despite having a long day (I may have been a little loopy at this point). Thank you so much Dragon and Panda for your time, It was awesome! Originally published on YouTube on March 10, 2019 Join me on my road trip north to Pennsylvania where I meet up with Dragon Roams for his birthday. We go on a short hike to camp with YouTubers Kurt Zitzelman and Adam Z Adventures at Weiser State Forest. #Hiking #Backpacking #outdoorgear After camping we have some time to kill before the birthday party so we head to the abandoned ghost town, Centralia, to see the graffiti highway. Back in the 1980's the people of Centralia were forced from their homes due to an underground coal fire that was started by accident. It was interesting to see the abandoned town, to say the least. We down some fine brews at a local tavern and then head to the party for more camping, good food and fun with family. SkinnyGPanda finally appears from the tall grass in the field where she had been working hard setting up for the party. Things get interesting when a rain storm comes and we try to keep the party tent from flying away Ha Ha Ha, great times! I really enjoyed spending time with these great folks. This trip was fun! Originally published on YouTube on July 8, 2020 My friends and fellow YouTubers from Pennsylvania came to see me and we had a great time! They wanted to see the Base Camp, Camp Coyote and all of Burnwood's stomping grounds. It was really fun having them see the places I've camped and the structures I've built over years. They were the first to ever see Camp Coyote other than my wife and kids. I had ordered a hammock from Kurt, his company, Hemlock Mountain Outdoors. I was very excited when I learned that he would delivering the hammock in person. When he pulled the hammock out of a bag he kept pulling stuff out and I was like what the F? I had no idea that my Wife ordered me a under quilt and Dragon and Panda got me a new tarp, all from Kurt. I was almost speechless! I love all of it and am very thankful to everyone. It is quality gear. #hammockcaming After a short tutorial, we hammock camped behind my #bushcraftshelter at the #basecamp before hiking to Camp Coyote After that it was on to Stone Mountain State Park, NC (practically in my back yard) for some family camping. Originally published on YouTube on July 15, 2020. This has to be the highlight of the weekend, the three days that Dragon, Panda and Kurt came to hang out with me. We were very excited to go #hiking on the #StoneMountain loop trail. It offers beautiful waterfalls and water scapes and the incredible summit of Stone Mountain. I don't think we were expecting to be caught in a #thunderstorm while on the very top of the mountain. I am a bushcrafter, so, hiking hasn't been much of an activity in my recent days. My normal outing usually consists of a short walk to a specific destination to set up camp for a day or two. Hiking the summit was a challenge that I was eager to accept. Despite being soaked from the downpour, despite the pain of overworked and underconditioned legs, it was worth every second of it. It was exhilarating and just plain fun.
