I made this painting live on Rumble during a difficult period which I had earlier in the year. It took quite a while but I am happy with how it came out. Sometimes when times are tough, we find ourselves in a position where all we can do is pray. Perhaps this painting is a representation of an angelic spirit of goodness who intervenes and answers prayers on our behalf? Whatever one's interpretation, I was in a place then where it felt appropriate for me to paint an angelic figure, and this was the result. Really happy with this one, let me know what you think. I made this piece during a low point of volatility in my personal life. One thing about my art practice is that it helps sustain me during turbulent times. It has always been that way throughout my life. That is one of the reasons why I will always continue with my art practice, because I know that I always take it with me wherever I go, and it will always be a way for me to express myself and work through things, and it stands as a sort of personal historical record of where I have been, how I have grown, what I have experienced, which I keep just for myself. An interesting thing about this painting is that I had made the sketch for it a number of years ago. I like to periodically go through my old notebooks and sketchbooks. I can get reinspired by something which was simple or pointless or even an afterthought at one time. But for whatever reason, sometimes we see things in a new light and they become appealing or significant to us again or in a way which they were not before. For whatever reason, I felt like painting this old sketch. This is one example of how the creative process is really not a linear thing, it is actually very nonlinear for me. This painting idea is really is just a silly play on words, but of course the heart as a symbol is quite rich and embedded with a lot of meaning. Perhaps it is just a reminder to always stay organized! Not just in your physical environment, but also emotionally, internally, physiologically, and however else! Wanted to make some art that represents both my channel and Rumble as a whole, so I made this mandala style piece on a canvas panel. I will see how I can use this design in other things, who knows? Sometimes I turn designs into products like shirts or other things. I will look to make more designs about my Rumble channel in the future, it is a fun theme to build more resources and materials for utilizing my own artwork. And it is a way for me to wear my own art in a way that represents my channel and brand. I was painting a lot of things this one day and after already painting a couple really intuitive pieces I started listening to some Björk. I really love Björk's music and in that moment I was really digging this one album by her called Post, and the colors of the album art were really inspiring me. So I decided to do a quick little impressionistic portrait study of Björk, inspired by that album art. She is such an amazing artist.
