GOOD Friday! What Is Good About It? Good Friday! Why do they call it “good” it didn’t seem like a “good” day for Jesus. He was falsely arrested, falsely accused and sentenced to die. He was stripped, beaten within an inch of his life, a crown of thorns pushed into his head, given a cross to bear and carry to Golgotha, crucified with nails driven in hands and feet… all for us, dying our death, so we could live His life. He took on our punishment, the sin-debt we owed and was beaten and crucified and in our place, and died a painful and humiliating death. How is this good? It was good, it was great, it was miraculous for us because we were freed of our sin debt with the Father God and given the opportunity for eternal life. There is no good greater than that for us and Jesus was so very willing to go through this horrible day for us, He chose us! He decided for us! It seemed like Jesus truly knew what a “waiting room” is. He waited from Good Friday until Easter Sunday, waiting on God’s Will to be done. In the Garden Of Gethsemane, He waited on God and prayed, crying out to His Father God. He knew how hard it was going to be, the next day. He asked God: Could you take this cup from Me? He sweat drops of blood, that is how stressed He was about bearing the full weight of the sins of all the world. God answered Jesus with peace. Peace is our Green Light. We stop at the Red Light, we wait for peace. We yield at the Yellow Light, we wait for the peace to go through it, in God’s perfect timing. The Karios timing of God, that critical moment of time where the peace comes and we go through the yellow light safely. The Green Light of peace is go, just simply-significantly GO. Jesus knew He got the green light to go forward with the Crucifixion, He knew what He had to do, He came here to die, it was His destiny to die and defeat death, and His waiting was almost over. Is God in our “waiting room”? He sure is. Just like with Jesus, the Father God never left Him, He stayed with Jesus in the Garden Of Gethsemane, as He grieved over what was ahead and as He made the choice to do what God sent Him to do. He bowed to God’s Will and then there was peace like no other. Jesus was ready to face what was ahead because God met Him in the waiting room. Are you in a waiting room, waiting on God? You are not alone, Jesus is with You. Jesus knows about “waiting rooms” He knows about waiting on God’s Sovereign Will to purposefully and timely play out. He knows about the followship of peace, and then stepping out in peace into the "Karios" of perfect God timing. God is with us in our great moments of stress, the waves of chaos crashing on our soul, as He shatters the chaos with His Peace. Jesus said: Not My Will, But Yours be done. He died our death so we could live His life. Jesus did that for us even though we had hurt Him, He loved us like He had never been hurt by us. Jesus knows everything you are feeling in your “waiting room” You can trust Him in Your waiting room. Jesus went to the cross and died and He rose from the dead. It ushered in the greatest transformation ever known to mankind. From death to life. This Jesus, Our Messiah, He is the One Who waits with you in your “waiting room”. He is with You. We petition Him in prayer, and we should seek Him more than we do what we want. Our petition should be all about Him, seeking Him, worshipping Him and letting be and knowing He is God and He will usher in His perfect and good Will for us in our waiting room. Follow the peace, just like Jesus did. Wait on it, His peace and then follow it, where He leads. Wait for the “green light” of God’s peace and then step out of Your waiting room navigated by the Holy Spirit. Just like Jesus did on Good Friday: He waited on God and then He went to the cross, yielded to the Will of God. The “good” in Good Friday was all for us, we benefited greatly as Jesus took on our sin, paid our debt we could not pay and translated our death into His life. Yes, this is good, Good Friday! Do you feel displaced? Everything has purpose and that is what is so cool about our God and His creation. What a Masterful Creator. He creates and He maintains. Incredible Way-Maker God! He is constantly shaping us, we are clay in His Hands, so be responsive clay to the Potter’s Touch as He molds your life. There is a place for you, purposefully so. Wait on God, He will finish what He started in you. No doubt about it. He sees us finished.

Jesus as we connect with You, heart to heart, You break our hearts for what breaks Yours. Lord, we grieve and humble ourselves before You, asking for forgiveness for the depravity of our human choices has reached new lows and continues to plumet day after day. We all will leave here in death, and we will take nothing we have sold our soul to get, with us. Father God, we grieve with You, over how far humanity has fallen, chasing after the temporary and we pray for Your intervention to expose and expunge evil from our human condition and turn us back to You. Change it up in us Lord God and turn us away from evil deception to the reality of Your Truth; away from serving no power higher than self, to loving You and serving You, Almighty God, out of our vital-vertical relationship with You. Purify our hearts, Jesus, and teach us how to guard them from the enticement of evil, from the killing, stealing and destroying deception of our enemy. Jesus, we are so grieved for the depravity of our human condition and pray that You would change it up. How have we fallen this far? The depravity of people harvesting the organs of children while they are still alive, this is beyond soul sickening. Please help us Lord, turn the tide of humanity away from evil to good, help us to resist evil by doing good. Holy Spirit lead us away from seeking all the temporary things of this world, to seeking first the Kingdom of God, our future and permanent home with You. Forgive us, Lord God.
