The Grave of Conjoined Twins, The Hilton Sisters
ReallyBigSchuWe visit the grave of Daisy and Violet Hilton, another set of conjoined twins (formerly "Siamese Twins") buried in North Carolina. Like Chang and Eng Bunker, the more famous conjoined twins buried in North Carolina, Daisy and Violet were famous and travelled throughout the world performing in sideshows, but in contrast to the Bunker's, Daisy and Violet's life were filled with abuse and hardship. This video provides a bit of history on the twins, from their birth, their time in vaudeville and sideshows, their roles in the cult classic "Freaks", and we visit their final resting place in Charlotte, North Carolina. Conjoined Twins Chang and Eng Bunker's Final Resting Place
ReallyBigSchuWe are visiting Chang and Eng Bunker's grave at the White Plains Baptist Church in Mount Airy, North Carolina. Chang and Eng were conjoined twins born in 1811 in Thailand (known as Siam at the time). The term “Siamese Twins” was coined and used during their days touring in what was known as “freak shows” during the early 1800s. They were very successful and amassed a small fortune touring with P.T. Barnum’s circus, which they used to retire, buy a farm in Mount Airy, marry sisters, and raise a combined family of 21 children. Today we visit the grave, and do a brief walk-through of the cemetery. There is so much information on the amazing life of Chang and Eng that it would be impossible to list everything here, but I encourage you to check out the following links for more details, and other links: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chang_and_Eng_Bunker http://www.surryarts.org/siamesetwins/index.html If you like this or my other videos, please consider liking, subscribing or following me on these social media platforms.
