There wasn't any point in trying to argue, so I'm putting it up here for those who have considered the mainstream and want alternatives. I've made and used Black Salve on myself, friends, family, and pets, and have not seen any negative effects apart from stinging when applied to open flesh (before I learned how to use it properly). I have watched it work effectively on both people and dogs.
