This week on Ear Worms, we are revisiting our friends at UFO, the British 70s TV show. This Gerry and Sylvia Anderson production never disappoints when it comes to topics to be discussed. We're looking at the episode entitles "Computer Affair," which many recommend as the second episode for a better viewing order of the series. There's no other sound in music quite like that of the Canadian rock band, Rush, cultivators of a unique sound that was truly their own. While their sound did change and evolve, it maintained a core that had its own fingerprint. We are going to talk about their early sound, specifically the album 2112, which was released in March of 1976. The album epitomizes Rush's hard, progressive rock sound. We will take a look at the lyrics and discuss the concept behind the album. The album The power trio on the album was the lineup that Rush maintained for well over 30 years: Geddy Lee on bass & vocals, Alex Lifeson on guitars, and Neil Peart on drums and percussion. This week, we will be discussing The Babylon 5 Season 1 episode, "Deathwalker," which brings up an excellent discussion on immortality and the price that may be paid for such a gift. We will talk about the character, Deathwalker, who is the last of her kind and after a lifetime of war crimes has spent the last years of her life coming up with a cure for disease and aging. There is a trade off for this cure, however, in that the key ingredient for making the serum requires the death of other individuals just to make a batch for one other individual. In other words, it is trading a life for a life. Deathwalker foresees the rest of the races in the galaxy fighting each other for immortality. The Vorlons, however, do have something to say about it by the end of the episode. This promises to be a great discussion with World of Swap Shop about Chapter 11 of his epic work, Praxeum of the Pathfinders, which is an alternate story that begins after the cinematic work, The Force Awakens, taking a different path than the rest of the sequel trilogy. This chapter consists of a dramatic space battle between the resistance vessel, The Echo of Hope and a pirate vessel, The Sovereign of Free Reign. The former is a wounded ship with low resources commanded by Admiral Madine. Captain Emeriss Severum, the captain of the pirate vessel has the upper hand. Still, it is a valiant battle. The resistance receives much needed assistance from Admiral Ackbar bringing The Raddus and Home one to save the day. The battle becomes even more epic. We'll also learn about the recovery of Finn, who is aboard the medical vessel, Anodyne, which is in this conflict. Finn is recovering from his wounds from his duel with Kylo Ren. Will he be ready to fulfill his destiny?
