Bible Study Essentials part 5: Introduction to the Inductive Method
American TorahIt is next to impossible to arrive at mathematically definitive conclusions about almost anything in the Bible because the text was written in a different language, era, and culture from ours, and it's missing many contextual details. The Bible tends to focus on illustrations of truth rather than black-and-white statements of truth. It's tempting to let a church or theologian tell us what the Bible means and then interpret everything we read through that lens, but that's how every cult and false teaching in history has developed. The inductive Bible study method gives us a systematic way to approach the Scriptures and derive reasonably certain conclusions from the text instead of imposing our on biases onto the text.
