Plus Trump pushes even harder to arrest criminal illegals. The Trump administration has unveiled a broad new immigration plan aimed at speeding up deportations and tightening border control. A key part of the strategy offers undocumented immigrants $1,000 and paid travel if they leave the U.S. voluntarily. Those who refuse to leave despite deportation orders could face daily fines of up to $998. The plan includes sending 10,000 troops to the southern border, using the 1798 Alien Enemies Act to fast-track removals, and ending Biden-era programs like CBP One, leaving many migrants in limbo. Other steps include charging asylum seekers fees, ending birthright citizenship, expanding detention centers, reinstating the "Remain in Mexico" policy, and restricting humanitarian parole. The administration says implementation will begin quickly to deter illegal crossings and improve enforcement. Commentary: President Donald Trump just signed an executive order banning all U.S. federal funding for gain-of-function biological research in countries like China and Iran, citing the potential risks. This type of research, which involves altering viruses to make them more infectious, has been linked to the Wuhan lab and possibly contributed to the origins of COVID-19. The order is intended to improve the safety of biological research and prevent dangerous lab leaks. It also gives U.S. agencies the authority to cut off funding for any research that threatens national security or public health. Kennedy Jr. and NIH Director Jay Bhattacharya backed the decision, warning of the global dangers such experiments pose. Authorities allege he oversees MS-13’s operations in Honduras, fueling its criminal network across Central America and the U.S. with drugs, firearms, and funds. Attorney General Pam Bondi emphasized that apprehending Carías is critical to curbing MS-13’s devastating impact on communities. Furthermore, tips must be submitted to U.S. authorities, such as FBI field offices or American embassies, to be eligible for the reward.
