Solitude - 4 Days in the Bush

Originally published on YouTube on May 6, 2020 #solocamping #bushcraftcamp #tarpcamping Sometimes a person just needs to get away from it all. Four days in the woods did wonders for me. I had plenty of time to clear my head and tuned into my body's natural biological clock, meaning, no alarm clock. I refrained from looking at any social media platforms while out there and only used technology for filming. The weather was perfect, not too hot, not too cold. It was a great time and I was honestly sad to leave on the last day. I set up a tarp shelter after building a stretcher bed out of two tripods and two thick contractor trash bags. The bed was quite comfortable, to my surprise. While out there I tried my hand at fishing, which is something that I haven't done since I was young. It was very obvious that fishing is something that I'm going to have to do more of and learn the ropes again. I took 5 small meals, each separated out into rations and a few packs of instant oatmeal. Catching fish would have been a nice bonus but that didn't happen. Despite not catching fish, I still had a great time. It was time to myself while enjoying nature's beauty. Check out the channel links below! It is day 2 and the weather is just beautiful. I love waking up to cool, crisp mornings. Tarp camping is one of the easiest ways to enjoy the wilderness. The stretcher bed I made out of tripods and contractor trash bags slept great. I decided to do some fishing and try a few different spots along the creek to see if I could reel one in but had no luck. Later in the evening I gather firewood to prepare for dinner. An unexpected call to nature happens after eating Texas Pete Hotter hot sauce! Despite not catching fish, I still had a great time. It was time to myself while enjoying nature's beauty. Originally published on YouTube on May 20, 2020 #solocamping #solobushcraft #solitude It is day 3 of camping in the wilderness. I woke up before sunrise due to a little discomfort during the night. Temperatures were chilly so I got the campfire going by blowing on the leftover coals from the previous night and added small twigs. As I was warming up and anticipating dawn I remembered that I was tagged by Shasta Valley Outdoorsman in a trail coffee tag. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOx1Dn5c40StUTULASXq9qw After coffee I build a small bushcraft table to conveniently store my pots and cups. Temperatures slowly begin to warm so I head down stream to fish. The creek and landscape completely change down stream with rock features and rushing water. After not having any luck fishing I settle in for evening dinner and enjoy the fire for the last night of the trip. I thoroughly enjoyed the time I spent out here and I'm sad to be leaving. I did a lot of absolutely nothing while out here which is exactly what I intended to do. It was nice to reset my mind body and soul. I take you out on a new trail that i made that follows several game trails.
