Mal 4:2 "But for you who fear My name the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings; and you will go forth and skip about like calves from the stall. For those who fear the Name of the Father, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in His wings. This is a reference to Messiah Yeshua. The "sun" is metaphorically a reference to Elohim (Ps. 84:11, Isa. 60:19-22, John 8:12). The passage says that He will have healing on His "wings." The Hebrew term for "wings" is kanaph: Wings - H3671. kanaph, kaw-nawf'; from H3670; an edge or extremity; spec. (of a bird or army) a wing, (of a garment or bed-clothing) a flap, (of the earth) a quarter, (of a building) a pinnacle:-- + bird, border, corner, end, feather [-ed], X flying, + (one an-) other, overspreading, X quarters, skirt, X sort, uttermost part, wing ([-ed]). There was a woman with a hemorrhage that fully understood the meaning of this passage: Luke 8:43-44 And a woman who had a hemorrhage for twelve years, and could not be healed by anyone, This women who was suffering the hemorrhage for 12 years was unfit for any human contact. She had been to many doctors of that day, but no one could help her. 44came up behind Him, and touched the fringe of His cloak; and immediately her hemorrhage stopped. The fringe of His cloak would have been the tassels or tsitstit of His garment. Fringe - G2899. kraspedon, kras'-ped-on; of uncert. der.; a margin, i.e. (spec.) a fringe or tassel:-- border, hem. This woman had great faithfulness for she knew that the Messiah would come and have healing in His wings Mal 4:2). The Hebrew word for "wings" is "kanaph." This woman had faithfulness that Yeshua would have healing in even the tassels of His garment. Her action of faithfulness was rewarded. Luke 8:45-48 And Jesus said, "Who is the one who touched Me?" And while they were all denying it, Peter said, "Master, the multitudes are crowding and pressing upon You." 46But Jesus said, "Someone did touch Me, for I was aware that power had gone out of Me." 47And when the woman saw that she had not escaped notice, she came trembling and fell down before Him, and declared in the presence of all the people the reason why she had touched Him, and how she had been immediately healed. 48And He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace." Yeshua knew who touched Him and why. He wanted this woman to come back and tell the people the reason why she had touched Him. It would appear that this woman said she knew Yeshua was the Sun of Righteousness sent by the Father as spoken of by the prophet Malachi and she bore personal witness to that Truth. Mal 1:7 "You are presenting defiled food upon My altar. But you say, 'How have we defiled Thee?' In that you say, 'The table of the LORD is to be despised.' Mal 1:8 "But when you present the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? And when you present the lame and sick, is it not evil? Why not offer it to your governor? Would he be pleased with you? Or would he receive you kindly?" says the LORD of hosts. They are bringing defiled creatures for offerings to Elohim. They were bringing creatures that are lame and sick, which was prohibited. Deut. 15:19-21 “You shall consecrate to the LORD your God all the first-born males that are born of your herd and of your flock; you shall not work with the first-born of your herd, nor shear the first-born of your flock. 20“You and your household shall eat it every year before the LORD your God in the place which the LORD chooses. 21“But if it has any defect, such as lameness or blindness, or any serious defect, you shall not sacrifice it to the LORD your God. Elohim points out that if they made such an offering to their governor, he would not be pleased at all. They had taken an oath a few years earlier that they would bring in proper tithes and offerings as stated in Torah. Neh. 10:34-37 Likewise we cast lots for the supply of wood among the priests, the Levites, and the people in order that they might bring it to the house of our God, according to our fathers’ households, at fixed times annually, to burn on the altar of the LORD our God as it is written in the law; 35and in order that they might bring the first fruits of our ground and the first fruits of all the fruit of every tree to the house of the LORD annually, 36and bring to the house of our God the first-born of our sons and of our cattle, and the first-born of our herds and our flocks as it is written in the law, for the priests who are ministering in the house of our God. 37We will also bring the first of our dough, our contributions, the fruit of every tree, the new wine and the oil to the priests at the chambers of the house of our God, and the tithe of our ground to the Levites, for the Levites are they who receive the tithes in all the rural towns. Elohim says that if the priests do not take His Torah to heart, He will turn their blessings into curses. Deut. 28:15-19 “But it shall come about, if you will not obey the LORD your God, to observe to do all His commandments and His statutes with which I charge you today, that all these curses shall come upon you and overtake you. 16“Cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the country. 17“Cursed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl. 18“Cursed shall be the offspring of your body and the produce of your ground, the increase of your herd and the young of your flock. 19“Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out. Jer. 6:16-20 Thus says the LORD, “Stand by the ways and see and ask for the ancient paths, Where the good way is, and walk in it; And you shall find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’ 17“And I set watchmen over you, saying, ‘Listen to the sound of the trumpet!’ But they said, ‘We will not listen.’ 18“Therefore hear, O nations, And know, O congregation, what is among them. 19“Hear, O earth: behold, I am bringing disaster on this people, The fruit of their plans, Because they have not listened to My words, And as for My law, they have rejected it also. 20“For what purpose does frankincense come to Me from Sheba, And the sweet cane from a distant land? Your burnt offerings are not acceptable, And your sacrifices are not pleasing to Me.”
