In the midst of destruction you can still be victorious if you are right with God. God does promise peace, and security but He does not necessarily mean that in this life. He a majority of the time means that in the spirit. If you are right with Him your security is forever. This book covers the calamity of the Jews being taken away from their holy land. They state in this book they are suffering from the sins of their ancestors, yet they pleaded with God for redemption. They collect money to send to the temple in Jerusalem for the priests to purchase offerings to sacrifice with the Lord in hopes of repentance. Remember that the Lord is an equalizer of all people. No matter your wealth, property or status, in the midst of God all are equal and the greatised will be the least among you. Hear the wisdom of God for this is rightiness that God is seeking, not goats and bulls, yet He will always love his people when they turn from sin. God is a God of second chances. Peace is not achieved through external means, but from within through wisdom and purity, which leads to perfection in God, through Christ. Amen

A short story considered an addition to the book of Daniel. A woman named Susanna is wrongfully accused and puts her faith to the test as she is about to be killed by false witnesses. At the last moment Daniel steps in and with his wisdom turns the tables on the false accusers and they are put to death. Susanna is saved and Daniel is praised for his true witness.

A prayer of Repentance from a corrupt king that at the end of his life finally chose to serve the Living God and repent. Amen

Another so-called addition to Daniel where Daniel declares the worship of the idol (Bel) to be wicked. The king declares that if Daniel can not prove the Bel is not a god that Daniel would be put to death. However, Daniel is right and the false priests of Bel are killed instead. The second part of the story shows how Daniel defits another false god (a dragon), and is punished for killing it. This is where some cross over from the book of Daniel apperis as Daniel was placed in a lion's den for killing the dragon. Yet, Daniel is protected amongst the lions, showing God's protection for those that are His.

A small book considered to be another addition to the book of Daniel. It is a book of testimony to God's mercy, and the righteousness of God's judgment. These testimonies were spoken by the three men thrown in the fire by Nebuchadnezzar. Azariah at the beginning of the book speaks to God asking to be saved from this fire, but he understands that if this be the Lord's will that it is okay. Lastly, as the three men are saved they praise God on a long declaration of worship.
