Our application of Scripture to our lives can only take place after we read the passage for what it says and understand it in context of the rest of Scripture. Nathan teaches us, however, that the lenses of our unresolved past can cause us to misread, misdefine, and misapply what the Holy Spirit is speaking to us in Scripture.
