Amiga Gaming: Lollypop (1994)

In 1994 there was a game released exclusively in Germany by Rainbow Arts,strangely as a late Amiga era game in 1995 it was developed as a 16 bit ECS game,rather than a 32 bit AGA game,also it was cross released on PC under DOS, it was a game that held much promise,but almost 30 years later does it stand up as a good platformer?

This level bears a suspiciously close resemblance to ghouls and ghosts.....

This is where the game began to really struggle,an overly long complicated,confused and frustrating level that shows the game designers really had run out of ideas...

A very hard level that begins to show the programmers inexperience,and as such you'd need an infinite lives cheat to complete this level!

A level that shows the decline of imagination and gameplay ideas,it's just a bunch of filler and the Wardrobe boss is not a metaphor,dreams are metaphorical!

A return to form with a level that is a touch unfair,could have been a good final level...

A level that borrows too much from Zool,feels like a filler rather then a finale,a hit and miss game with too few strong levels with a lot of padded ones to fill it out,should have dropped Mansion and Dreamland levels,was only available in Germany on PC & ECS Amigas,(I wonder why!?)a potentially great game let down by poor game design and an abject lack of fair play,as only an infinite lives cheat allows completion.
