Role of Women In The Church
Law of The LordChristians are impacted by the culture around them, including on the issue of the role of women. Women of God today will walk in the steps of the women of old, adhering to God’s word as the standard, and resist the pull of culture. This not only applies in the home, but in the church as well - the subject of this study. https://lawofthelord.com11 views -
Temple Teaching | Acts 3 & 4
Law of The LordPeter and the other apostles preached the gospel and met with stiff opposition (Acts 3 & 4). When we look at them, we see great examples of steadfastness and are encouraged to be committed to the Lord just as they were. We also realize the gospel has great power. https://lawofthelord.com6 views -
A Perverted Gospel
Law of The LordPaul's letter to the Galatians is a hard-hitting attack on a perverted gospel (Galatians 1:1-9). We must beware lest we fall into the same trap as they did, accepting "another gospel," which is not another. Our hearts and minds must be fixed on truth and committed to doing God's will. https://lawofthelord.com7 views -
Language
Law of The LordThe Bible recognizes the proper and improper use of common words, like the Lord's name (Psalm 8:1; Exodus 20:7). It also identifies profane and filthy language (Leviticus 19:12; Colossians 2:8). This lesson examines both profane and filthy language, as well as euphemisms commonly used that barely veil profane language. https://lawofthelord.com14 views -

Husbands, Love Your Wives
Law of The LordGod gave man the gift of a woman (Genesis 2:18-24). This gift is something which is to be treated with respect and gratitude. Thus, God commands husbands to love their wives (Ephesians 5:25-33). In fulfilling this command, husbands will cherish and nourish their wives, honoring them in the relationship (1 Peter 3:7). https://lawofthelord.com11 views -
An Impressive Altar | Joshua 22
Law of The LordIsrael’s conquest of Canaan was long and hard, but it was accomplished (Josh. 21:43-45). There were many battles in which the major strongholds were taken with some work left to be done by individual tribes. Israel was successful in conquering the Promised Land because they stuck together and, mainly, they remained faithful to the Lord (cf. Judges 2:7). In Joshua 22 we see where the people had religious zeal, but a misunderstanding arose. After a discussion about the situation, peace and unity in the Lord prevailed. Thus, this chapter contains several good lessons for us. https://lawofthelord.com9 views -
The Day The Sun Stood Still | Joshua 10
Law of The LordIsrael’s victories at Jericho and Ai compelled the Gibeonites to make an alliance with them. Though it was formed by deception, Israel honored their covenant to defend and protect Gibeon when five other kings attacked. In Joshua 10 we see Israel’s defense in the midst of which, we read one of the most amazing miracles in the Bible — the day the sun stood still. We see God working with man and the victory He delivers for His people. https://lawofthelord.com19 views -
Achan | Joshua 7
Law of The LordIsrael’s stunning victory at Jericho was followed by a shocking defeat at Ai (Joshua 7). Satan was at work trying to hinder the progress of God’s people and plan. Sin had been committed among the people, a violation of the covenant with God concerning Jericho. As a result, God was no longer with His people. In this account are important lessons about not breaking covenant with God or harboring sin in the congregation. We specifically look at the fact that sin comes out, it has limited pleasure, and the responsibility to remove sin from the congregation. https://lawofthelord.com7 views -
Jericho | Joshua 6
Law of The LordIsrael refused to enter Canaan land 40 years before the eventual invasion. They initially refused to go in because they feared the people and were intimidated by the fortified cities (Numbers 13:28, 29). Their lack of faith doomed a generation to wandering and eventual death in the desert. Their children, however, learned the lesson and became a generation of faith. After being encouraged by the Lord and the people, Joshua began the process to invade and conquer the Promised Land (Joshua 2-5). In Joshua 6 we see the opening of a long campaign to take the land — a campaign that was partly military, but mainly religious. It was a religious campaign as it was part of God’s plan of salvation; a fulfillment of God’s promise to Abraham. In this chapter we see Israel easily take the city of Jericho; a display of God’s power and manifestation of His grace. https://lawofthelord.com19 views
