Rev. Moses C. Onwubiko - I AM WITH YOU - Matthew 28:20 (9-18-25)
countrybiblechurchbrenham-----Complete notes can be downloaded from our website - www.countrybiblechurch.us -----You may contact us at [email protected] or [email protected] Combing through Scripture, the phrase “I am with you” appears more often in the Hebrew Bible than in the New Testament, with the NIV using it about 23 times and other versions even more. In the Old Testament Gen. 26:24: The Lord calms Isaac’s fear and reassures him of His unbreakable covenant with Abraham—I am with you. Ex. 3:12: The Lord promises to be with His servant, Moses in Egypt. Jos. 1:9: The Lord encourages Joshua of His unwavering support. Isa. 41:10: God promises help and strength to His people. – I am with you. Jer. 1:8: God encourages Jeremiah to stand firm against every opposition. Hag. 1:13: God promises Hagai support for rebuilding the Temple. In the New Testament Matt. 28:20: Jesus Christ assures ongoing support to the church: “I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matt 28:20 NLT). “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you” (Heb. 13:5 BSB). John 14:20: Jesus Christ informs His disciples regarding their future incredible experience of His presence and support. “On that day [when that time comes] you will know for yourselves that I am in My Father, and you are in Me, and I am in you.” AMP. Acts 18:10: Jesus promises Paul protection in a dangerous area. — “I am with you…” The phrase, “I am with you” provides: Guaranteed divine support for individuals across different generations. The unfailing dedication of God toward His children. Divine success: “The LORD [Yahweh] was with Joseph, so he succeeded in everything he did” (Gen. 39:2 NLT). Divine guidance: “For that is what God is like. He is our God forever and ever, and he will guide us until we die” (Ps. 4814 NLT). When the Lord is with you, He will guide every step you take, every move you make, ensuring success in His plan for your life. “I know the plan that I have for you…” Jer. 29:11 Who is the one making the comforting and authoritative statement, “I am with you”? He is no other than: The Great I AM of the past, present and future—John 8:58; Heb. 13:8 The One with all authority: “I have received all authority in heaven and on earth” (Matt. 28:18 NLT). 3. He is Jesus Christ—the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. 4. He is God’s Son. He is Emmanuel — The Eternal God. He is the Omniscient, All-knowing, All-wise God. His is the Omnipresent God: “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble” (Ps. 46:1 BSB). 8. He is Omnipotent One. 9. He is The Sovereign God. 10. He is The Righteous One. He is The Ever-loving God—”God is love” (1 John 4:8). He is The Truthful One, embodying veracity. He is the God of equity and justice. He is The Immutable, The Unchangeable God: “I am the LORD [Yahweh—Jesus Christ], and I do not change” (Mal. 3:6). Let us reflect deeply on the authority of the One who says, “I am with you.” Let the truth sink. The phrase, “I am with you” has a different connotation in each dispensation, Old and New. In the OLD Dispensation: The Jews Their worshiping was external, in the temple. They had external contact with Jehovah-God. He never indwelt anyone. He was outside providing support. In the New Dispensation: The Church Notice the big difference. Or as they say in French Vive la difference—Jesus lives in you! You have a homecourt advantage than Abraham, Moses, David and all the Old Testament saints combined. There contact with Jehovah-God was external. Ours is internal, “Jesus in you the hope of glory” (Col. 1 :29). You are carrying the God of the universe wherever you are. Jesus indwells you. His strength is your strength. His power is your power. “My power is perfected in weakness” (2 Cor. 12:9). Everywhere you go, He goes with you. Every move you make, He makes with you. When you lie down, He lies down with you (except He doesn’t sleep when we sleep). He is quite awake watching over us. We are now at the heart of our study. We must link the New Testament phrase, “I am with you” to its context—the Great Commission. The Great Commission MATTHEW 28:19, 20 (NLT): “Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Remarkably, the word make is the only one in the imperative in the passage. The words Go, baptize, teach are particles; they illustrate how the command, GO is to be obeyed. Jesus Christ assumes that you will go. It is a given. It is the responsibility of every child of God. Jesus Christ has given the church, a supreme command, make disciples.49 views -
COMMUNION SERVICE, Over the last 2,000 years, much has changed: God’s Word never changes. (9-7-25)
countrybiblechurchbrenham-----Complete notes can be downloaded from our website - www.countrybiblechurch.us -----You may contact us at [email protected] or [email protected] We are the Royal Family of God, obeying His command to partake of the Lord’s Supper, in remembrance of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Over the last 2,000 years, much has changed, but God’s Word never changes. 1 Peter 1:24-25 For, "All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, 25) but the word of the Lord stands forever…" Believers have been partaking of the Lord’s Supper in the same way we do by taking the Bread and the Cup for around 2,000 years. We are eagerly awaiting our Lord Jesus Christ’s return to earth at the rapture which could happen at any time. Meanwhile, It appears that God saved us from the people who hate Him, His Word, believers, and especially President Trump during the 2024 elections and the hate continues. It seems that God could be using him as a restrainer of the anti-Christ. President Trump is doing his best to do away with evil and corruption in order to make our country great again which will keep the anti-Christ at bay. The following verses has to do with God restraining the time of the anti-Christ’s arrival in the Tribulation. 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first (Transliterated from Apostisia which comes from the verb Aphistemi which means to draw away or remove) and [then] the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, 4) who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God. This verse shows that Church Age believers will be taken off the earth when Christ returns at the rapture, before the anti-Christ is revealed and before the Tribulation begins. This can be substantiated in (1 Thess. 4:13-18.) 2 Thessalonians 2:5 Do you not remember that while I was still with you, I was telling you these things? 2 Thessalonians 2:6-7 And now you know what holding him back (the ministry of the Holy Spirit), so that he (anti-Christ) may be revealed at the proper time. 7) For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back (the H.S.) will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way (at the rapture). Read: 2 Thessalonians 2:8-12 The Restrainer will hold the anti-Christ at bay right up to the Rapture. We don’t know the exact time when these things will take place, however, there are many signs and scriptures that indicate that the rapture could be very near. Matthew 24:36 "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone. It appears that we might have a period of time where we can enjoy freedom and peace, but we know that there will be a time when the wickedness, evil, and corruption of the Globalist will take over, but that will be after the rapture, and we will be in heaven with our Lord Jesus Christ. There are many signs in the Scriptures that are falling into place that suggest that the rapture is near. Ezekiel 37:3-14 The valley of dead bones. Ezekiel 37 and Ezekiel 38 – The Victor of the Nation over Gog and Magog. The Old Testament names for the nations involved in the invasion that will take place in the future Tribulation. All the O.T. nations names have been changed to modern names, and they are in the same locations. Example: Persia – Iran, Gomer & Beth-Togarmah – Turkey, Sheba & Dedan – Saudi Arabia, Put - Libya Numbers 19:1-10 The Law had very specific ways to deal with Red Heifers but there were no perfect Red Heifers for about 2,000 years. That just changed a few weeks ago where they found six perfect Red Heifers (even one white hair on a Heifer would be disqualified) . They went through every detail required. Numbers 19:10 and now the congregation of the sons of Israel shall keep it as water to remove impurity; it is purification from sin. Revelation 13:16-18 And he causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free men and the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hand, or on their forehead, 17) and he provides that no one should be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name. 18) Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for the number is that of a man; and his number is six hundred and sixty-six.40 views -
EDIFICATION COMPLEX of the SOUL # 4 (& COMMUNION) (7-6-25)
Country Bible Church - Brenham, TXSome Axioms (universal accepted rule) concerning grace: a) God is perfect; His plan is perfect. b) A perfect plan can only originate and function from a perfect God. c) If man can do anything meritorious in the plan of God it is no longer perfect. d) A plan is no stronger than its weakest link. For this reason grace excludes all human merit, all human ability. Grace also excludes any form of human good. e) Legalism and human good is always the enemy of grace. f) Therefore, works of human righteousness have no place in the plan of God. (Isaiah 64:6) g) All human good is associated with the greatest mental attitude sin of pride. 8. There are four areas of Arrogance which reject God’s grace. This explains Satan’s Arrogance, human Arrogance, why Arrogance is the worst and most devastating of mental attitude sins. a) The Arrogance of the believer who rejects the doctrine of eternal security. To say that you can commit a sin that is greater than the plan of God is blasphemous. Hebrews 12:28. b) The Arrogance of the believer who succumbs to pressure and adversity. He thinks his pressure and suffering is greater than the grace provision of God. 2 Corinthians 12:8-10. c) The Arrogance of pseudo spirituality, the believer who thinks his human systems of spirituality are greater than the ministry of God the Holy Spirit. They believe that their sins are more refined than our sins, therefore when he compares himself with us, he thinks he is more spiritual than we are. d) The Arrogance of the believer in emotional revolt of the soul who assumes that his feelings and his emotions and his experiences are more important than Bible doctrine — 2 Corinthians 6:11-12.21 views 1 comment -
FATHER'S DAY - Are you a good father? (6-15-25)
countrybiblechurchbrenham-----Complete notes can be downloaded from our website - www.countrybiblechurch.us -----You may contact us at [email protected] or [email protected] HAPPY FATHER’S DAY June 15, 2025 ARE YOU A GOOD FATHER? ALL MEN ARE MALES BUT NOT ALL MALES ARE MEN. ALL MALES WITH CHILDREN ARE FATHERS, BUT NOT ALL FATHERS ARE MEN. ALL GOOD FATHERS ARE MEN AND THEY’RE OFTEN CALLED DADDY. The Marines need a few good men, but America needs a lot of good fathers! It’s not hard to become a father, but it’s hard to be a good one. It doesn’t take a lot of time to become a father, but it takes a lifetime to be one. Becoming a father isn’t always a matter of choice, but being a good one is. You can’t be a good father if you’re not a good husband. We should be taking advantage of every opportunity to fill our minds with knowledge and truth. We lose the chance to honor and glorify Christ if we are not prepared for the challenges and tests that are sure to come our way. If you are not nourishing your mind and soul with truth and knowledge every day in these times that are evil, you will falter and fail. Truth and knowledge goes out from CBC three times a week. Do you take every advantage of it? countrybiblechurch.us God gave you authority over the family, therefore TAKE CHARGE! 1.Hopefully, this standard was discussed and accepted by your wife before you were married. If it wasn’t, this is a good time for her to learn how God intends marriage and family to operate under the chain of command He has ordained. (Ephesians 5:22-6:4) 2. Since God gave you the leadership role of your family, if things are out of kilter, who is to blame? 3. Men who whine and complain about their households demonstrate that they are not in charge, or they are a lousy leader. 4. The best way to be a good father is to be a good example. Good leaders don’t expect more of those under their charge than what they expect of themselves. If you give them love, respect, encouragement, and praise, you more than likely will get the same in return. 5. Two principles to remember: a. It is normal for subordinates to test those who have authority over them but if you don’t assert your authority, you’ll lose it. But even worse, they will lose respect for you. b. You get exactly what you expect from those under your authority. If you let subordinates be sloppy, lazy, and mediocre, they won’t like or respect you, nor themselves. 6. You don’t have to be a tyrant or dictator to get a lot from those who are responsible to you. You only need to be firm and fair. You shouldn’t feel guilty for making rules and seeing that they are followed. That is you job. 7. Your wife’s respect for you will help teach your children to show proper respect 1. By not correcting or overruling your decisions or what you say. 2. By not giving you orders, shouting, or talking down to you. 3. By treating you like you are the King of the castle. Your wife’s respect for you will help teach your children to show proper respect. TIME: You can’t squeeze an hour in here and there when it is convenient for you to be with your children, call it quality time, and think all is well. You must make special time for them. It is your duty. They are worth it and you will BE very glad you did someday. “A young successful attorney said: “The greatest gift I ever received was a gift I got one Christmas when my dad gave me a small box. Inside was a note saying, “Son, this year I will give you 365 hours, an hour every day after dinner. It’s yours. We’ll talk about what you want to talk about, we’ll go where you want to go, play what you want to play. It will be your hour!” “My dad not only kept his promise,” he said, “but every year he renewed it—and it’s the greatest gift I ever had in my life. I am the result of his time.” “God’s Word has established the dominance of male leader- ship in the home. Children need fathers who consider familiarity with God superior to handling a bat or fixing a doll house; who freely talk to their children about God and to God about their children; and who zealously strive for the Christ-likeness that assures the willing submission of all family members to the husband’s leadership. God wisely provided complementary roles for fathers and mothers, choosing to trust primary responsibility to fathers.”45 views -
NATIONAL & PERSONAL CRISIS, # 26 (Memorial Day Special) - The Ultimate Sacrifice (5-25-25)
countrybiblechurchbrenham-----Complete notes can be downloaded from our website - www.countrybiblechurch.us -----You may contact us at [email protected] or [email protected] The Doctrine of the Uniqueness of the Church Age 1. The uniqueness of the Church Age is based on the strategic victory of Jesus Christ during the first advent, His two deaths on the cross, both of which are involved. The first death validated the New Covenant. His second death or physical death abrogated the old covenant (Mosaic Law). So, the Mosaic law was abrogated by His physical death but His first death was a spiritual death and that was the blood of Christ. The blood of Christ refers to the explanation of the sacrifice of Christ bearing our sins. The blood of Christ covers the last three hours on the cross when He who knew no sin was made sin for us, and His first death on the cross, the blood of Christ death, actually validated the New Covenant whereas the second time He died on the cross he died physically and that abrogated the First Covenant. From those two deaths we have resurrection, ascension and session, all part of this great strategic victory. From this victory comes the Royal Family of God, and because of the royal family of God and because of the validation of a New Covenant, there has to be an interruption of the Jewish Age. For one thing, the Jewish Age had just run out of gas because its covenant is abrogated. The Mosaic Law was abrogated at the cross and therefore out of gas in the name of the game for the Jewish Age. Furthermore, Christ is sitting up there alone and the born-again Jews cannot be royal family, they all were saved during the period when the Mosaic law was operative. Therefore, a New Covenant means a whole new ball game, and that means a new age, a unique age, the Church Age; that means things that never happened before. That means a Royal Family and there never was a Royal Family of God, there was just family of God.47 views -
MOTHERS DAY SERVICE 2025, [Proverbs 31:10-31] (5-11-25)
countrybiblechurchbrenham-----Complete notes can be downloaded from our website - www.countrybiblechurch.us -----You may contact us at [email protected] or [email protected] The “Mother’s Day” concept has a long history of religious connections which in modern times seem to have been predominantly Christian. In ancient Greece, the idea of paying tribute to motherhood was given expression with a regular festival tantamount to mother-worship. Formal ceremonies to Cybele, or Rhea, the “Great Mother of the Gods,” were performed on the Ides of March throughout Asia Minor. For Christianity, the concept seems to date back to establishment of England’s “Mothering Sunday,” a custom of the people which provided that one attend the mother church in which he was baptized on Mid-Lent Sunday. Gifts were to be offered at the altar to the church and to worshippers’ mothers. The concept was divorced of any “mother worship,” but nevertheless perpetuated its religious association. Paul Lee Tan, Encyclopedia of 7700 Illustrations: Signs of the Times (Garland, TX: Bible Communications, Inc., 1996), 857. Throughout the ages, people have honored their mothers. Thomas Edison’s tribute to his mother: I did not have my mother long, but she cast over me a good influence that lasted all my life. The good effects of her early training I can never lose. If it had not been for her appreciation and her faith in me at a critical time in my experience, I would never likely have become an inventor. I was always a careless boy, and with a mother of different mental caliber, I would have turned out badly. But her firmness, her sweetness, her goodness, were potent powers to keep me on the right path. My mother was the making of me. The memory of her will always be a blessing to me. Roy B. Zuck, The Speaker’s Quote Book: Over 4,500 Illustrations and Quotations for All Occasions (Grand Rapids, MI: Kregel Publications, 1997), 262. The newest development in manufacturing is robotics. Robots put in endless hours, function in different environments, never seem to run down, cost very little to maintain, and do it all without praise, personal attention, or stroking. Actually, robotics are nothing new. They used to be called mothers. Roy B. Zuck, The Speaker’s Quote Book: Over 4,500 Illustrations and Quotations for All Occasions (Grand Rapids, MI: Kregel Publications, 1997), 263. Men want to improve only the world, but mothers want to improve their whole family. That’s a much harder task. Harriet Freezer James A. Garfield’s mother was an earnest Christian who taught her children that “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” A widow with four children, she not only managed her farm, but built with her own hands a log house which was also used as a church. There she taught her own children as well as others the Scriptures. 1 Timothy 5:14 Therefore, I want younger widows to get married, bear children, keep house, and give the enemy no occasion for reproach; Proverbs 6:20 My son, observe the commandment of your father, And do not forsake the teaching of your mother; 2 Timothy 1:5 For I am mindful of the sincere faith within you, which first dwelt in your grandmother Lois, and your mother Eunice, and I am sure that it is in you as well. Proverbs 31:10-31 An excellent wife, who can find? For her worth is far above jewels. 11 The heart of her husband trusts in her, And he will have no lack of gain. 12 She does him good and not evil All the days of her life. 13 She looks for wool and flax, And works with her hands in delight. 14 She is like merchant ships; She brings her food from afar. 15 She rises also while it is still night, And gives food to her household, And portions to her maidens. 16 She considers a field and buys it; From her earnings she plants a vineyard. 17 She girds herself with strength, And makes her arms strong. 18 She senses that her gain is good; Her lamp does not go out at night. 19 She stretches out her hands to the distaff, And her hands grasp the spindle. 20 She extends her hand to the poor; And she stretches out her hands to the needy. 21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household, For all her household are clothed with scarlet. 22 She makes coverings for herself; Her clothing is fine linen and purple. 23 Her husband is known in the gates, When he sits among the elders of the land. 24 She makes linen garments and sells them, And supplies belts to the tradesmen. 25 Strength and dignity are her clothing, And she smiles at the future. 26 She opens her mouth in wisdom, And the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. 27 She looks well to the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness. 28 Her children rise up and bless her; Her husband also, and he praises her, saying: 29 "Many daughters have done nobly, But you excel them all." 30 Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised. 31 Give her the product of her hands, And let her works praise her in the gates.18 views -
COMMUNION SERVICE, The believer's citizenship (eternal home) is in heaven. Philippians 3:20 (5-4-25)
countrybiblechurchbrenham-----Complete notes can be downloaded from our website - www.countrybiblechurch.us -----You may contact us at [email protected] or [email protected] The ordinance of the Lord’s Supper is a divinely appointed testimony from the believer’s heart to God respecting the believer’s trust in Christ’s efficacious death. As such, it has nevertheless been greatly perverted, the Church of Rome having developed the unwarranted doctrine of Transubstantiation which is the changing of the elements of the bread and wine, when they are consecrated in the Eucharist, into the body and blood of Christ (a doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church). The Lutheran doctrine of the Eucharist includes Consubstantiation which is the doctrine that the substance of the body and blood of Christ coexist in and with the substance of the bread and wine of the Eucharist, to the effect that Christ must be present by omnipotent power in the elements—a blessing to believers, but not to others. The Lord’s Supper is not about Jesus Christ coming back to earth to take the form of bread or wine, or to mingle with the bread and wine. The Lord’s Supper is a reminder for us to remember Him and what He did for us on the cross. After He had given His disciples, instructions concerning the bread and the wine, He said, “do this in remembrance of Me.” We are just sojourners on this earth; our primarily citizenship is in heaven because that is our eternal home. Philippians 3:20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; It is very important that we are accurate when we study the Word of God. That is one reason why He gave certain men the spiritual gift of being a pastor-teacher. Most people don’t have the time or the inclination to learn the Greek and Hebrew or to study the Bible for eight hours at a time. Nor do they want to take on the crushing responsibilities of a pastor. The purpose of the Lord’s Supper is to help us remember the Person and Work of our Lord Jesus Christ who bore our punishment on the cross. We will now take a close look at 1 Corinthians 11:26, which has three major aspects to it: 1 Corinthians 11:26 “For as often as you” eat this bread and drink the cup, “you proclaim the Lord's death” “until He comes.” UNLEAVENED BREAD represents the perfect sinless humanity of J.C. Do you know why they ate unleavened bread at the Passover, and we eat it during the Lord’s Supper? It speaks of Christ’s perfect sinlessness. Anyone can eat; anyone can believe in Christ (by eating of the living bread which is a metaphor for believing in Jesus Christ). John 6:51 “I am the living bread that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; THE CUP represents the sacrifice of Christ for us on the cross. His substitutional death on the cross is the only thing that satisfies the Justice and +R of God. Every believer and unbeliever will live forever in one of two places: heaven: (1 Thessalonians. 4:13-18) or the lake of fire (Rev. 20:11-15). The cross is the only thing that stands between us and the Lake of Fire. Furthermore, He conquered sin and death on the cross so they no longer have power over us. When we eat the bread and drink of the cup, we are publicly demonstrating our trust in Him regarding where we will spend eternity. You don’t have to be a member of CBC to partake of the Lord’s Supper because you are already a member of the universal Church in Christ. Here is the bottom line: Our gracious benevolent God, in eternity past, devised a personal specific plan for the life of every Church Age believer and also set aside personal specific escrow blessings for every believer. Every believer has an equal opportunity to execute God’s plan for their life and an equal opportunity to receive escrow blessings in time and in eternity, by reaching Spiritual Maturity. How can anyone who understands the wonderful things that God did for us in eternity past, not be eternally grateful to Him and to be in awe of His love, His faithfulness, and His power. It isn’t too late for us to act on the knowledge we now hold. The phrase, “For as often as you.” eat this bread and drink the cup, shows that our Lord gives us some leeway as to how often we observe the “Lord’s Supper.” The next phrase, “you proclaim the Lord’s death” means that we are to proclaim the gospel, not only when we show our faith in Christ in public as we partake of the bread and the cup, but to proclaim His death to anyone who will listen to the gospel. Proclaiming the Lord’s death is essentially explaining how He voluntarily took the punishment of your sins and my sins and the sins of the whole world on Himself on the cross. The last phrase, “until He comes.” which is the greatest phrase of all because our Lord Jesus Christ is telling us that He is coming back to earth to take us back with Him to heaven and so shall we all be with our Lord!34 views -
RESURRECTION DAY - The resurrection of Christ is the most significant event in history. (4-20-25)
countrybiblechurchbrenham-----Complete notes can be downloaded from our website - www.countrybiblechurch.us -----You may contact us at [email protected] or [email protected] The resurrection of Jesus Christ is that central moment in human history that serves as the foundational doctrine of Christianity. After having truly assumed human nature and submitted to an agonizing and shameful public death, the eternal Son of God was truly raised from the dead in his glorified physical body, no longer subject to decay and death. His resurrection validates his identity as the divine Son of God, demonstrates his irrevocable victory over death and the grave, and secures both the present salvation and future physical resurrection of believers. 1. Easter is not a biblical term; it’s found only one time in one Bible, the KJV, in Acts 12:4. The Gr. word is pascha, πάσχα, n. asn. It means “Passover”, referring to the annual Israelite festival commemorating Israel’s exodus from Egypt. Acts 12:4 And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers [4 squads of 4 soldiers each] to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people [to stand trial]. 2. Where did the name “Easter” come from? The origins of Easter are obscure. It is often assumed that the name Easter comes from a pagan figure called Eastre (or Eostre) who was celebrated as the goddess of spring by the Saxons of Northern Europe. According to the theory, Eastre was the “goddess of the east (from where the sun rises),” her symbol was the hare (a symbol of fertility), and a festival called Eastre was held during the spring equinox by the Saxons to honor her. (This is not accepted by some historians.) Got Questions? What are the origins of Easter? https://www.gotquestions.org/easter-origins.html 3. It appears that the Passover event covered in the Bible coincided with the time of the festival just mentioned and of course it has been commercialized in our time in a big way. 4. Christians associate Easter or Resurrection Sunday with the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Regardless of what it’s called, it causes people to focus on what’s next. After this life, then what? 5. What do people in America think about life after death? CBS News Poll: Americans' Views on Death, 4-27-14 Three in four Americans believe in the existence of heaven or hell, including 66 percent who think both exist. Eleven percent believe only heaven exists. Seventeen percent of Americans don't think either place exists.16 views -
