An MH-53M PAVE LOW crashed during combat operations in Afghanistan shortly after 9-11. The crew survived and the aircraft was destroyed with a JDAM.

MH-53M PAVE LOW tail number 68-10357 is the last surviving helicopter from the Son Tay raid in Vietnam. This video is of the last combat mission and flight before the helicopter was shipped to the U.S.A.F. National Museum in Dayton, OH. The helicopter was taken as is after its last mission and displayed as such in the museum.

Maj Steve Plumhoff was killed on Nov 23rd, 2003 when the MH-53M PAVE LOW helicopter he was piloting suffered an engine compressor stall. Three other crew members and one team member were also killed in the crash. This video is a dedication our dedication to him.
