Check Out The Hilarious Moment When Parrot Recognizes Himself In Camera Phone53s

Check Out The Hilarious Moment When Parrot Recognizes Himself In Camera Phone

Ever since cell phone manufacturers started making front facing cameras a regular part of their products, people have been divided in accepting them. While some hate the gadget with every ounce of their being, thinking it makes them look broader and uglier than normal, others revel in the existence of a camera where you can actually see how you pose, so that you catch the best possible selfie ever! This is the first time George the African Grey Parrot sees himself in a camera phone on selfie mode. As soon as his owner asks him who is in the video, he comes over to look and then laughs when he sees himself. He then proceeds to test the camera by barking at it and trying out other words and phrases he likes to see if in fact it is him. He even plays peekaboo with the camera! When he finally comes to the conclusion that this is in fact him, he says,"Oh, it's George!" Then he starts sending even more kisses and asking for them in return, because, hey, that is one handsome Grey Parrot. What a character! Another probably very distant cousin of George is the famous Einstein. That Grey Parrot is world famous for his antics in front of the camera and as a real star, he just can’t get enough of watching himself in the mirror. The moment he recognizes his face, he starts kissing the reflection, before adoringly waving good bye. Hope these two cracked you up as much as they did us.

Monkey Refuses To Start The Day Until Her Teeth Are Brushed

Every morning Teresa Bullock’s pet macaque Angel goes through her beauty ritual to prepare for the day... She gets a thorough combing through and through, but this morning she kept wanting something else... It took Teresa a minute to figure out that she had forgotten to brush Angel’s teeth. Luckily Angel didn't forget!!! She refused to put her diaper on until her teeth were nice and brushed. It seems that in past 20 years the monkey has figured out hygiene is exceptionally important. Plus, we get to see who owns whom. Angel might be behaving like a big girl here, but sometimes she acts just like a little kid. No type of monkey logic comes to mind to explain why she does what she does, other than something fun and different that almost always gets her attention! In this video, we see just how far Angel would go for attention, as she is categorical about stuffing a snack up her nose! She keeps putting the stuff in and rubbing it off, over and over again. Just when Teresa told Angel that it might get stuck up her nose, it seems that is exactly what happens. The seems ashamed of her actions, so she jumps off from in front of the camera and runs away. Probably right in front of the mirror, to try and pry her toy from her brain. Hilarious!

Rowdy Baby Gorilla Gets Disciplined By Dad In Front Of Zoo Visitors

Shufai the baby gorilla was has a great time playing with some tree branches in Twycross ZOO until his father Oumbi decided to take them all away (since technically he's playing with his food). But when Shufai persists, Oumbi does a total dad move to let him know he's serious! The kid runs after his dad, while the 24-year-old Silverback gorilla gather all the branches from the enclosure and puts them away. Shufai’s older brother Lope knows well to stay away from dad’s path, but the gorilla youngster wants his toys back. In an effort to stop dad from removing all of his toys, Shufai tries to grab dad by the foot, but the elder puts him back in his place with a determined, but still very gentle nudge with the foot. Body language is a big deal with these giants and the baby knew that very instant that playtime is over! Instead of chasing after dad, the baby sits on his butt and contemplates his choices, before turning away and running after mom Ozala. Shufai was born on September 24, 2016 and is the third baby for 22-year-old mother Ozala and 24-year-old father Oumbi. As well as being a joyous occasion for zoo staff and visitors, the birth is an important part of conservation efforts to save the species, as the number of Western lowland gorillas in the wild has dramatically declined by more than 60% in the last 20-25 years, and scientists predict they will become extinct in the next 20 years or so.

Cockatoo Introduces Herself To Dog In A Language She Understands

You have probably heard of the talking cockatoo. In fact, most of the bigger birds can imitate sounds and phrases they hear most often in their household. Take Einstein the talking parrot for example. That bird is so advanced in his communication skills, he can ask for his favorite snacks, like popcorn and pizza, he can shower his owner with affectionate word of love, he can even sing nursery rhymes. Not all parrots are like good old Einstein, but most of them are able to imitate the sounds of other animals. And if they have grown accustomed to another animal in the house, they will most certainly learn their language in order to communicate with it! Brandy here is only a distant relative to Einstein and she has been living with her humans for the last 31 years. When they brought home Chou Chou the pooch, the bird gave her best shot at learning the dog’s language, because this is a new member of the family and communication is a must. The two have been housemates for the last two years as Chou Chou has been around and Brandy has become a sort of expert in dog language. Whenever Brandy wants to get attention from her housemate, she approaches the dog carefully and smacks her beak. When that doesn’t work, she takes introduction to a whole new level - she barks at Chou Chou! We can’t say whether or not Chou Chou understands Brandy’s bark. But they seem to get along just fine for now.

Woman Finds An Orphaned Baby Armadillo In Her Backyard, And Now They’re The Best Of Friends

Whenever we think of armadillos, we’re usually reminded of the first scenes of ‘80s movies, beginning with armadillos on the highways across the desert, accompanied by the stray tumbleweed. However, this is not the case. This little guy has made a backyard his home for the past 3 days. Now named Dilly, his mother is nowhere to be seen. Dilly is usually left to himself so that he doesn't become too dependent, but user 'TYarber37' makes sure he always has plenty of water and leads him to bugs. He looks for her now when he hears her voice. Although your first instinct might be to rescue a wild animal you find in your backyard, or anywhere else for that matter, it might be the smartest choice to call a professional handler and rehabilitator to pick up the animal. Especially if it a young individual like this baby armadillo. If your property is in some rural area where wild critters are common visitors, then the local wildlife shelter should be on your speed-dial list. But before you contact the rescuers, make sure that the animal is indeed in need of assistance; check if it is hurt or otherwise incapable of running home on its own, but maintain a safe distance. If that is the case, wildlife rescuers will do a far better job.

Prairie Dog Eats Vanilla Wafer From Owners Lap For The First Time47s

Prairie Dog Eats Vanilla Wafer From Owners Lap For The First Time

We all have heard of people who "fight like a cat and dog" and we have all seen the cartoon “Tom and Jerry”. According to that, all of this makes us believe that cats and dogs don’t really like each other. As always there is an exception of this "rule" and a proof of that is this video. These animals were never thought to be domesticated and bond with people, however this video proves the contrary. On average, these stout-bodied rodents will grow to be between 30 and 40 cm long, including the short tail, and weigh between 0.5 and 1.5 kilograms. These species divide into two categories. There is the black-tailed prairie dogs tend to be the least dangerous, and white-tailed prairie dogs tend to be the most dangerous, when it comes to their survival and predator instinct. These little guys are very cute and have been found to be domesticated across the world. However, don't let their cute appearance and squishy face fool you since they are fine little predators. Some people have taken the risk of domesticating one of these little cuties, however the research has been done and what is to be expected is also known. Although cute, they make challenging pets. Every year they go into a period called rut that can last for several months, in which their personalities can change drastically, often becoming defensive or aggressive. Check out this friendly prairie dog adorably tasting a vanilla wafer for the first time. Would you consider a prairie dog as a pet after seeing this?

Boulder County Sheriff's Deputies Meet Their Feathery Match28s

Boulder County Sheriff's Deputies Meet Their Feathery Match

Our Sheriff's Office deputies were driving near a campground on July 23 when they were stopped in their tracks by this young Northern Saw Whet Owl. After some curious head twisting (on both sides) it safely flew away. Watch the deputy have a conversation with the baby owl as it clicks back to her. A tiny owl with a catlike face, oversized head, and bright yellow eyes, the Northern Saw-whet Owl is practically bursting with attitude. It has a very sophisticated hearing due to vertically asymmetrical ears and different shape of ear openings. These Owls hunt mainly at dusk and dawn and most often use the "sit and wait" tactic to drop down onto prey on the ground from low hunting perches. Maybe this little guy is trying to set a trap. This fellow is standing in the middle of the road and encounters human. The human starts making some strange sounds (talking) to which the little bird curiously twists its head, on both sides, trying to understand what the deal is about. When the human gets closer, it doesn't move or get scared away. It just stands there and observes. It kneels down and get back up. It is so adorable. This brave bird is enjoying his chat with human. He is very friendly and not shy at all. Do you have any food for me or you will continue to stand on my way and talk much? You should also check out this video of an owl being pet by human, which eventually makes him sleepy. Credit to Boulder County BOCC
