Wheel of Time, the whole series - A Book Club Review!
Reviewing and *gasp* rating the Wheel of Time is a daunting task. Even for a short video (yeah, this is considered short, at least in relation to the subject matter). I held off on this for some time. I had lots of excuses as we seem to be finishing a great number of things lately that we would like to include here. The truth is, I finally pushed through because getting this out of the way lets me talk about other WoT things! Like the Little Wolf! Moraine! Bela! The list is endless. Well, it’s done. It’s not perfect, but it’s done.
The Wheel of Time is a fantasy series by James Oliver Rigney Jr., written under his pen name Robert Jordan. The Wheel of Time spanned fourteen volumes plus one prequel for a total of 15 books. The first volume, The Eye of the World, was published 1990, and the last volume, A Memory of Light, was published in 2013. That’s a very long run!
The books of the series in chronological order are:
New Spring (prequel)
The Eye of the World
The Great Hunt
The Dragon Reborn
The Shadow Rising
The Fires of Heaven
Lord of Chaos
A Crown of Swords
The Path of Daggers
Winter's Heart
Crossroads of Twilight
Knife of Dreams
The Gathering Storm
Towers of Midnight
A Memory of Light

Dawnshard by Brandon Sanderson - a Bookclub review!
Was this Novella too rushed? Even for the prolific Brandon Sanderson there is a limit to how fast a book can be produced. Can faults highlight strengths you haven’t realized were there all along?
Beware travelers, some minor spoilers herein. Also, HUGE spoilers in the book for those that come before it, so DO NOT read this first.
Book Club review for Dawnshard by Brandon Sanderson. This is a Stormlight Archive novella taking place between Oathbringer and Rhythm of War. I would recommend reading it between these two novels. It has some big Cosmere lore advancements and some great and needed character development.
Primary players are Rysn (a Thaylen merchant and extreme sport enthusiast), Lopen (everyone is a cousin, Bridge Four 4 life!), Huio (I can fix it), Rushu (why did you break it?), Nikli (it’s hard not to be conflicted when your mind is in more than one place), and Cord (who, to my great shame, I did not mention once).
Journey to Akinah aboard the Wandersail! Enjoy the food! Enjoy the sights! Try not to get eaten!

More grumpy Winter Soldier brooding. Angsty kids as bad guys? No one on the same page. More grumpy Winter Soldier brooding. Lots of fights. Old good good guys helping out. Julia Louis-Dreyfus as a creepy cool Valentina Allegra de Fontaine? Preachy end speech and a new suit! Less grumpy and brooding Winter Soldier.

Kingkiller Chronicles - A Book Club Review!
Beware travelers, some spoilers herein.
Kingkiller Chronicles, is it the whole story or just a primer for the story to come?
Book Club review for The Name of the Wind and The Wise Man’s Fear, by Patrick Rothfuss. These are books 1 and 2 for the series. Book 3, The Doors of Stone, has not been completed and released.
What is the series all about? I think we can sum it up with a few questions: Who is Kvothe? What did he do? Why is the world going to hell in a hand-basket? Are these questions related? (That last one is almost certainly answered – yes, yes these things are related, why else would we be learning about this guy if not?)
This is supposed to be a trilogy but we doubt that it will end as a trilogy. The next book seems like it will merely be the end of the beginning.

The Night Angel Trilogy by Brent Weeks - A Book Club Review!
The Night Angel Trilogy, plus it’s short prequel is dark. So dark I had to take breaks in reading it. It was also hopeful, with strong moral questions and quandaries. Here is my question for the readers: whose story is it? Kylar? Elene?
1. The Way of Shadows (2008)
2. Shadow's Edge (2008)
3. Beyond the Shadows (2008)
Prequel: The Perfect Shadow (2011)
Wait – all three books came out the same year?

Archive! How to Build an Omni-Blade (round) Foam Sword.
Watch as Harkael teaches noobs how to build a basic omni blade for boffer sports and LARPs like Belegarth, Dagorhir, or Amtgard.
Most popular in the boffer game Amtgard, the omni blade is east and cheap to build. They can break down fast though if you do not follow certain steps.
The video is dated, and may not show how to make rule compliant gear at this point, but it does show basic techniques, tricks, and supplies and that may still be useful.
This was a tutorial and recruitment video for a student organization at Central Missouri State University (CMSU) nka the University of Central Missouri (UCM).
It was aired on the student run local cable TV network circa 2005-06. It, and others like it, helped increase recruitment well over 2000% in one semester alone!
This was a great group of geeks that we miss and wish the best!
