Rock Climb? Rock Climb This!
If you are into rock climbing this would be a challenge, in my opinion, but for some, maybe not? Mostly loose shale and a dead tree that is barely hanging on. There appears to be several complexities involved here, and I wouldn't attempt it, but I'm not a rock climber!

School Bus on Two Wheels
I always try to maintain a safe distance when passing cyclists, especially with kids as they can be unpredictable. But in this instance, due to limited visibility, I should have been more mindful and patient, but was lost in the moment, I guess, it was 32 Degrees, windchill 17 Degrees, and they acted like it was summer time! It can be challenging and frustrating at times for some, but I enjoy watching them. Thankfully within the last couple of years they've started wearing bright colored vests, which helps encourage their visibility.

Cedar Stump Rehab
I cut two cedar trees down probably 2 decades ago and we sawed out the lumber. I kept the stump from one of the trees and I am now trying to resurrect it for the wildlife. The bottom had rotted from sitting on the ground and the core is now hollow, perfect hiding place for chipmunks. I sawed off the bottom and made a passage clear through.

Scratchin' on a Duck Hole with JD
I'm attempting to make a duck pond for the wildlife. I enjoy watching the critters. They all need water too! And you never know who will show up for a drink!? I started this project this September with a 1956 John Deere 420 Crawler with a 2 point blade, up and down. It also has a bad carburetor that I should replace, should $$. It's hard scratchin' and slow going with this Ol' John, but it's a step above a shovel. It's still hard on the back!

Willa-Meeeena The Community Cat
This Grumpy Ol' Cat has wandered the road for years, and we've all fed her. In return she beats up all of our cats, especially Lucille. The last time I took her back to her owner, she beat me back home!

JD 594 Steel Wheel 4 Bar Side Delivery Rake
These old rakes are ground driven and pulled by any means possible. If you don't have a tractor you can always use your horse. Most farms in these parts have a horse or two. These old rakes are almost indestructible and still used today, especially by the Amish.

1954 John Deere Tractor Model 40T
Little John is sick and I hope he gets feeling better soon. New points, rotor and condenser should help. If not there's always a plan B with these ol' tractors.

Lucille in Distress
A cat on a hot tin roof. So here we go deciding on the best option for removal. While bending over to set up my ladder, all of a sudden it felt like someone punched me between the shoulder blades. I don't know how she got up on the roof or how long she had been there, but she decided she'd been there long enough and jumped, landing in the middle of my back, and she is heavy. Kids these days, they'll do the darnedest things!

Bats, Bat House not Cat House
I like bats as they eat lots of insects including mosquitoes during the summer months. They are the only mammal that can fly. They don't migrate but hibernate during the winter. I've wanted to build a Bat House. Good winter project...

Wake Up and Smell What's Cooking
As the saying goes, “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.” So everyone dig in and get the day off to a great start with a good meal! My dad told me he could eat as soon as his feet hit the floor.

CALL 911
I knew better and should have secured it to my buggy. I've never been accused of being smart. When it fell it took me and the saw with it. It's a Cedar stump. I cut down two cedars years ago and my dad and I sawed out the lumber on our mill. I've used this as a bird feeder stand for years and should have stained it and kept it off the ground to help preserve it. Now I'm attempting to resurrect it. Attempting...
Unfortunately the phone in my pocket, filmed the top of my pocket.

Do You Know What This Is?
My dear friend Art carved this and gave it to me. He carved and painted beautiful life size Loons. He sold them locally and they were in so much demand that he kept raising his price in hopes that no one else would want one. He and his dog Tippy were both 46ers and had climbed all of the 46 High Peaks in the Adirondacks. I think he may have done them all at least twice and some of his favorites several times! He climbed Mount Marcy on his 80th Birthday and his daughter also planned to do the same this summer. I should stop in and visit with her and her husband. I've said that about many friends and family over the years but seldom follow through. Then I always live to regret it. Life is precious and short, real short.

What a Pleasant Surprise
We don't get much sun up here this time of year so I'm always glad to see it come up. It doesn't seem to make any difference to Lucille she just likes to be where I'm at.

Skiddin' Out Firewood with John
This is a 1949 John Deere B tractor helping me gather firewood. I hook the logs up close to the end, but this almost slipped off when I started to pull it. A friend of mine almost got killed doing this as he had the chain hooked up to far from the end and it got caught on something and the log he was hauling almost flipped over on top of him, but he stopped just in time! So, I always hook 'em up as close to the end of the log as possible and so did he after that.
